Ilmor has so many firsts it almost impossible to even count them anymore.
Most guys dont look further than the emblem on an engine and lose sight of who really develops it.
This is a company that can design from scratch any engine type to win any racing series it chooses.
Indy alone is biblical - not counting nascar and Kart and Marine.....
17 Indianapolis 500 Wins
240+ IndyCar Wins
220+ IndyCar Pole Positions
13 IndyCar Drivers Championships
8 IndyCar Manufacturers Championships

Not to mention F1, Moto GP, 5 stroke engine, ect. ect. ect.
Great Britain and motorsport engineering is such a great combo, can't be beat.

From what I ve read so far there seems to be a handful of ilmor lovers that have posted on this thread. I have not seen any merc haters. Maybe im a bit off on my charaterizations but lets just for argument sake say im correct.
If you were looking at 2 of the same v bottom boats and one w 700 mercs and the other 725 ilmors, what would you buy? If everyone picks Ilmor then i would say resale is as good or better than merc.

More power, less weight, great service, reliable, good looking, Indy drive, nice sound, fuel efficient.

If they made an NA 700HP v8 or v10 I would have probably bought it, but they didn't and now ilmor has me as a client.
The mill has been so sweet I'll be sticking with them a while.
