This boat can run close to 150 with the motors in it. We have other boats that can run reggies record. I've been 170 with plenty more left. Reggie still holds the sanctioned vee bottom record there's no arguing that. Not being biased but outerlimits builds more fast vee bottoms than anyone.

Well put, Eddie. Participating beats spectating any day, right?
BTW, your gang is a class act. One of your guys talked our ears off while you guys were busting to get the Skater V back on the water on Sunday. Answered all our questions and then some. Glad to see you make the event and look forward to seeing you back next year. You make it sound like your landing a Tomcat on a Carrier Deck. |

[QUOTE=TEXASRPM;3492152]Guys, your having fun!QUOTE]

Just want to clear up a few things. The motors are running on 93 oct fuel from the local gas station. There is a lot more than hp that made that run so good. The boat has a few things i have done that I think help it run better.Keep in mind if i had more time my next run would have bin 144 props a bit small.

If anyone has any video of the run, We would all love too see it.... The boat looked perfect and you could tell it was a very fast run.... I didn't realize they were only going to make one run,, so I kept waiting and waiting. But the boat clearly looked beautiful during the 140mph run..!!
I wonder how that same boat would perform on that course with Merc 1350s....probably would be something too see..!! |
I only made one run because saturday was not feeling well, sunday had to leave to get back to northeast do to hurracane.Flights were cancelled we had to drive.
|
Congrats BB on the sweet run. Very nice in any V bottom. Nice to see more OLs at the lake.

Thanks guys i appreciate the support. I have bin running many fast boats for years, but when i got there i didnt have any idea what to expect. Lot of big hardware there. Never ran my boat in fresh water, so i set it up the way i thought would run good guess i got lucky.

Good to see you Bill. Wow, I thought you were going to have a good run but that thing is wicked. Next year come down a couple days early to run around on the lake and hit the fun run on friday as opposed to the poker run. It is a fun lake once you get used to where things are at. The water definitely changes once all the boats stir it up. fiore gave me a ride in the SL44 that was there. The bottom on the SV43/SL44 definitely has a nice ride to it.

Completely different ride than the 42. Wow was the feeling that I had during and after the ride. Now just set one up with Merc 1350s and a rocket has been born. Mike said he has run that bottom at 174 mph.

The entire lake is filled with HEAVY HARDWARE everywhere you go during the Shootout. It is a an event that I feel would be hard to match up to anywhere else.

There is NOTHING like LOTO on ShootOut weekend. If you have a fast boat, or a half-fast boat, or just like fast boats, then it is a 'don't miss' event. Congrats to BB and the OL team for putting up some very impressive numbers. |

Congrats to the success of the Outerlimits SV 43 at LOTO. I had a chance to watch this boat run on the course and what a showcase at the dock!. I am sure with a longer stretch it would pick up some addtional MPH. When I had the 1075 package in our open canopy 42 fountain poker run, it was tested in Powerboat at 144-146. Then when we converted to a full canopy Pleasure-Race Boat ( stereo/AC and 4 seats), it would top `150+, but the best we could do in a mile at LOTO was 139. Then in the fall of 2010, we changed the Merc Motors out to the new 1200, preparing for KW, the testing speeds were improved again. It was aquired, before KW, and has a new home in Trinidad, on the OS racing circuit The 2011 LOTO was a wonderful event, and the performance of this OL-43 was outstanding. It will soon be time to start snowmobiling Doc J Denver |

Your 28 will likely be a NV2ab. (Non-professional, V-bottom, 27'-31' long, a=engine designation, b=# of engines). |

News to me. When was the actual run?
I know about the invitational at the Fountain factory were the OuterL XXX Had mechanical trouble and was unable to run. If this was the gauntlet, they did not run and the outcome would still be up in the air. |

Sorry. They pull the class info when they pull the registration link off the site. It's posted around here somewhere. Not sure where. Maybe someone will paste it here.

Billy Betz in his Outerlimits SV 43 is the fastest vee bottom as of now at LOTO with a 140mph pass. The boat is a full canopied boat with 1075s and number 6's! The boat will run past 140 given more room to stretch her legs!!
The shootout results reflect the top V was 139( same as last year), not 140 was there a posting error? Cheers |
