Fastest Vee Bottom at LOTO
 

Billy Betz in his Outerlimits SV 43 is the fastest vee bottom as of now at LOTO with a 140mph pass. The boat is a full canopied boat with 1075s and number 6's! The boat will run past 140 given more room to stretch her legs!!

Great Run by that OL 43.. I watched it live.. Boat was on rails and looked perfect.. Also, great colors too !!

I was hoping it would make another run, but haven't seen it out again...

They handle amazing at any speeds, slower and faster. I'm hoping someone got a video of his run!

second only to....., really good sex. Warp speed cats and turbines are cool but Vees and piston motors are "OFFSHORE".
Love to see that video. Thing is, if it was a perfect pass, it will appear boring in a video.
Was never a Reggie fan but loved his hate for cat's and attempts to run w/them.

1075's? I thought those things were making 1200+ now?

Still remember the interview on ntl TV at the offshore race (don't remember which one) and they interviewed a driver and asked him about the Fountain domination of his class. He said nope, not at this race. It's rough and it's real offshore here. Said the Fountains will be the fastest in the calm water behind the break wall and then will get passed as soon as we hit open water. Happened exactly as the guy said. Freagin hilarious.

So yeah, 140 may not be 177 but still bad ass in a large Vee and fastest there. End of story and well done guys! Think I read this was a full interior boat too :o

139/140 mph is still very fast and and very impressive with 1200's or 1075's in a 43' V-Bottom.

Just read in the My Way thread per JC in post #63 the motors are 1200's.

Im sure you have lots of high speed runs in the Sonic...I would wager to say that up to and including 57MPH...you could probably out wheel me. Who has the fastest Vee Bottoms?

This boat can run close to 150 with the motors in it. We have other boats that can run reggies record. I've been 170 with plenty more left. Reggie still holds the sanctioned vee bottom record there's no arguing that. Not being biased but outerlimits builds more fast vee bottoms than anyone.

Stock 1075 in a sv43 hung out runs around 143.

I would probably guess Allison or Hydrostream.

The boat has a full five man suede and vinyl interior with stereo and all the options as well as a large plush half cabin.

Great points, plus I couldn't believe how much faster it was than the Skater Vee

OL SV43 was 139/140mph

Skater 399 Vee's best run was 126mph

Huge advantage for the OL, and the Skater looked much smaller on its runs!

That OL SV43 was a much larger boat, and went down that course perfectly. Even Bob Teague commented several times how impressive that run was, for a 43ft boat, and said it was be very hard for any Vee to beat that speed..

U have any pics of the boat OL40SVX?..

I'll post some pics when I get into the office tomorrow. The owner would have upped the number but he unfortunately had to head home to tend to hurricance clean up back on Long Island. The handling of this hull at 120,130,140,150,160,170+ is incredible!

Watching the Skater V make passes, it sure looked loose and not on the rail. Not sure I'd want to be in it over 140.

So somebody needs to drop their 43 outlimits off to eddie young and order a set of those motors to be able to compare apples to apples next year!!:party-smiley-004:

Nonetheless guys, thats 140+ on PUMP GAS. A very nice upgrade for those people who want a little more juice out of their 1075's on the next rebuild

Your right Downtown.......you don't. It's a handful.
On the last run, I was at 134 and pulling good when it got out of shape and I had to lift. Went all the way down to 105 to get it to settle down, then back in the gas up to 126. You can't hold it over 130 for long. The slightest little thing will upset it and you CAN"T drive through it. It will just get worse until you slow down. It's really good up to 130, but then, it's who knows.
We just had a rough weekend. Whatever could have went wrong did. I'm not making any excuses and certainly not taking anything away from Dennis and Jason Parvey. They ran their a$$ off and deserve it. They were better than us this weekend. I ran quite a bit faster than recorded but that's all part of it. I don't have any regrets. We had a blast and we will be back. Again, congrats to Dennis and Jason.

A 42 Fountain with hopped up 525's ain't that fast. The OB Sonic may be able to take it. :) I have been in that same 24 sonic hull going 114 (built by Performer) we actually beat Reggie in a 200 mile race (He was 2nd)
