Agreed, we all own what we like, obviously we're not going to bash what we own...

They're trying to stimulate sales. If you follow this industry, and I'm sure you do, you know that new performance-boat sales are not strong these days.
Matt - I have to wonder if this type of cross-branding would really appeal to someone who isn't already a go-fast boat enthusiast or owner. Chances are they they wouldn't even understand the branding connection ( far fetched as it is) and if they truly are a first time enthusiast chances are they wouldn't be purchasing a 43OL.

I understand the mfg's are trying to stimulate sales and I'm all for that but when the branding compatability of the cross- branding is stretched to the limits it can backfire horribly and actually do more harm to the brand than if they just stayed with their own legacy and history.

Seriously... how about a Formula FasTech Fab Four Special Limited Edition #16. DA did give the boys from Liverpool a ride once. And the Bee Gee's lived next door to DA so .... and J.Lo bought DA's old house on Bay Road and .........

Both cig and OL are great boats. They are allbuilt strong. However, they both break boats. Lets see what a 7800 lb top gun would run. We all know the OL is light and strong. We really arent comparing apples to apples. Make them the same weight and power and see whos the cats meow then. Would be interesting.

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't want Don Aronow's name on my new $500K plus boat. No disprespect intended. I think that for that kind of $$, I'll choose my own graphics.

I think the 399 skater bottom is faster than all of them. just my 2cents. The boat was the first boat with the two big steps and three little steps. The OL has it now. The skater was faster than any boat pound for pound against all competitors. They had to keep adding weight to make it fair. so before we get to carried away lets throw petter in to the mix

The SV43 with Mercury power weighs around 8700lbs in an open configuration. FYI the Gladiator, really a 37ft boat with 525 and over 8000lbs runs 92 with Mercury 525. Great boat as I used to own one.The Outerlimits you are refering to breaking was a deal with Dick Lazzara of Lazzara yachts. He laid the boat up in his facility, not Outerlimits.

Yeah Dick broke the boat in practice I think repaired it and went back out again in race trim and it really broke. I believe it was a glass hull and carbon deck? Not sure if I remember that right. Something about the glass flex's and carbon does not. Caused the boat to break.

But take a 39 TG and make it 8700 lbs. Would it run similar number? Not sure. with 575 they run low 90's at 11,000 pounds. Every 1000 lbs is 10 mph roughly at those speeds. Give or take.
