Scott Shogren is a big fan of Checkmate (like you), and Doug Smith at Checkmate is a big fan of Shogren Performance Marine. It appears to be a good a paring.

There just aren't many builders of single-engine entry-level, affordable sportboats.

I also feel the same way, the boats at Checkmate have recieved IMO some needed new grafics and just a few small details that are now standard instead of options. my first Checkmate was a 1997 253 and i now own a 2008 ZT280. Checkmate has a great forum and tons of knowledge of the boats on the forum website. i think its over 50 yrs of building boats . I bought all my 5 boats new and cant say i ever had any real problems. For a quality new built boat in that price range there really is not much else available. 10 yr hull warranty is great also .

The ZT275 and the ZT350 looks like the old Baja models. They look great!

They are the Baja molds, Checkmate bought them.
