You guys are ruining any creditability this post might have originally had with the Manufacturers......keep up the good work
There are a lot of people that view this board as a joke (including powerboat mag) and you guys are helping to perpetuate that opinion.....nice job :o |

Would there be facts involved? Would there be ball busting involved? Would there be heresay and speculation involved? If it were me with my friends, then all of the above. That is what this board is. If people take it as a joke, then so be it. There is truth and humor on this board. This board represents real boaters with a passion for speed. I have learned much from the board members and found people who's opinions I respect (Rico). I have also found much humor and enjoyed some of the bull****. The bull**** I don't enjoy, I don't take part in. SO, BACK OFF! |
I don't care what Powerboat magazine thinks about this board. They should be concerned what WE think about their magazine. The customer is always right.
|
Wow when I saw this topic I thought it was about Cruiser boats and bad wigs with even worse mr.T starter kits..... I was wrong it was just another way to bash on bayliner.....with all this trash talking you would think this is the NBA.....
|
Spent.....Powerboat Mag thinks of this board as a joke?????? I doubt that.....if anything, Powerboat Mag should be ten times more concerned what the members of this board think of their magazine.....without a bunch of boatheads like us, Powerboat Magazine will fade away into the sunset....that is not a knock on Powerboat, that is just the way of life in the boating business or any business. Do not underestimate the power of this site...it is not even two years old. Have a good one.

I see Mike A. the head of the APBA on the board. If Powerboat Mag. wants to downplay this board, so be it...I've already cancelled my subsciption. I like offshore, not Yamaha jetboats and cuddy cruisers and that seems to be all PB is interested in now. With regard to the manufacturers, this is not a business tool, it is a chat session. If they want to advertise, they can buy an e-banner. If they want to participate in the threads, good for them. If they don't like the criticism they receive they can either change or ignore it. WE ARE THE CONSUMERS!! It is our money that the "manufacturers" are after. If you want to kiss the manufacturers' collective ass, do so but don't come down on the members of this board for exercising their right to say what they want. As for you, get off your self-righteous high-horse! If you don't want to be part of OSO, then get the hell out. |
That's my boy Rico.
Spent is entitled to his opinion, but he will be over ruled here. |
SMACK SMACK Take that.......

DMAN-
Hey I know it's late in the day, but GEEEEEEEzzzzzzzzzz give me some kind of come back!!!!!!! These cowboys are starting to take this thread to a different topic. BY THE WAY........... If you guys didn't read the whole topic and responses, the $hit hit the fan AFTER he decided, WES311 decided on a FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA FORMULA......... So we obviously (with Troutly's help, and other Formula) make him learn of the awesome features of the Formula line. By the way WES, did you go to the web-site and order you DVD featuring the new products and factory tour??????? IT IS FREEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (and good) Nort (aka Universal Chaos) PS: And the "D" stands for "I ordered DMAN one" :D :D |
WOW, with one swift click of the mouse, I just became less popular than the the oblivious guy in front of me on the wave runner...(I hate that guy). :D :D :D :D :D
Chill. :p |
Phantom....I wish Wes all the luck in the world....I will not knock his choice of boats...at least this thread educated him on the comparison of the two products and also educated him not to invite Turbo and his family over for a weekend visit!!!!!! I will deal with you later....there are plenty of other threads that need sprucing up by me throwing you under the Greyhound!!!

Troutly-
You are the man thanks for all the detail and Part numbers for the kit. I have a bit more room in the 382 than 353 but not a lot. I will inquire as to the whole deal installed or do it my self. I changed both recirculation pumps on Monday night, it only took 1-1/2 hours not too bad. I have the "low water pick ups and the pressure gets too high when you run fast. The seals in the water pumps have no lubricant such as anti freeze when running in salt water. My next project is to build a pressure relief system at about 18 psi so I don't have to do this every 50 hours. Thanks again for the help on the fuel pump. :) |
Turbo...."when you run fast." Now, this thread is getting old, but you are really setting yourself up for a tongue lashing....."When you run fast.""" When exactly.....oh, never mind...fix your boat and you can buy me lunch this weekend...you big poodle!!!!
DMan |
u r on to something...but looking in the wrong area...lower pressure is key...and worth 1-2 over 80 :)...keep looking...maybe u will stuble on it!
|
Look Lip's Faster then your Stock Fountain!
Hey Don't forget the Helmet!! Saturday were running to this Island for B-Fast wanna go? Sunday Yardhouse. |
Great....I can take Friday off and go boating with Phantom, have breakfast with you in Catalina on Saturday or go to lunch with both of you on Sunday......lets see, I think I will take the weekend off and cut the grass and rake the leaves!!!!
DMan |
MAN , DID I START SOMETHING!!! MAIN REASON FOR GOING WITH A FORMULA IS CABIN SPACE. NO I DON'T WANT TURBO TO STAY AT MY HOUSE BUT I WANT D-MAN TO STAY SO THAT I CAN PUT SOME SMACK DOWN ON HIM . :D :D :D

DMan</STRONG> Here are some simple pointers for you.......so a five year old can understand: 1. You have to have a lawn in order to cut the grass. It is just easier that way. 2. You have to have trees (or bushes) in order to rake leaves. It is just easier that way. 3. You have to have a house in order to have grass. It is just easier that way. 4. You have to have a house in order to have trees. It is just easier that way. Respectfully Yours, Nort (aka Universal Chaos) [ 07-19-2001: Message edited by: PhantomChaos ] |
Gee, thanks for that information Phantom...if you want it in English, just ask....NO, I do not want to hang with you and Turbo this weekend!!!!!
Wes....at least if I stayed with you for the weekend, I would pay for the utilities and buy you dinner....unlike Turbo The Freeloader!!! I could bring over all the Reggie Racing tapes and we could watch him blow by Don Johnson and Kurt Russel..."Bah bah Moveee Star!!!" Classic stuff....you put the smack down on me while we watch the tapes!!! What's your schedule like???? DMan   |
WISH THAT YOU GUYS WHERE ON THE EAST COAST. I THINK THAT YOU WOULD FIT - IN GOOD WITH OUR GROUP OF BOATING NUTS...
|
are we done?
|
Great..........I had to work today (Friday). Now if I go boating Saturday or Sunday, I might run the risk of hitting DMAN on his jet ski while practicing for the Catalina ski race. Then I'll go to hell for sure! Sounds like he's going to be using the jet ski for sure now that his trim tabs aren't working. DMAN...............next time don't put 3-IN-1 oil in the reservoir!!!!!!! That stuff only works on sewing machines!
Nort (aka Universal Chaos) PS: And the “D” stands for “Don’t use 3-IN-1” |
Norty, I think we've been through this before. You don't work, you watch people work. :D

Each owner has their own preferences. It depends on if you want speed or a nice tight cabin. The Fountain hull is designed for speed and yes it has a beak but that beak has a purpose. Ever stuff a Formula at 70 Mph
and you would appreciate the beak. Fountain cabins however are fairly basic and have minimal headroom. Remove the cabin interior drops close to 700lbs and you have a F2 race boat. I crew with Pier57 2000 APBA World Champions and we have set many World and Kilo records with those hulls, this does equate to a very strong and fast hull design. :D [ 07-20-2001: Message edited by: Predator ] |
Predator....Where have you been??? We finished the Formula/ Fountain debate months ago.....since then, all we been doing is ragging on each other and trying to out-insult each other....don't be diplomatic and nice!!!! Be nasty!!

I'll have to make up for it next weekend during the Catalina Ski Race. When are you going down? Friday? Nort (aka Uniniversal Chaos)   |
DMAN (satin)-
That was a good thread............good luck in the Catalina Ski Race. You've got LOTS of good competition!!!!!!!!!!!! Nort (aka Universal Chaos) :D |
I can't belive it!!! Nort is actually wishing DMAN some good luck after all the bashing back and forth on this thread! I guess I better wish you good luck too DMAN.
|
Thanks Luvoffshore....and Phantom too....luck is about 75% of this race, so I will need a lot of it. You guys have a good one and thanks again.
DMan |
Got the new DV Cam (digital video).......you are in trouble this time DMAN......you better not F up.........the F-Men (turbo) just may kick your a$$
If the boat don't break, it's up to the skier!!!! Nort |
FORMULA, FORMULA, FORMULA. Just My opion though. Had a 382 and GREAT support from the factory. Told Scott Porter after we pasted them in the ocean, out running Michelle, that I WILL buy another FORMULA.
Robert |
Hey DMan-
Heard you went boating today. You suck. :D :D :D :D |
Go with the Fountain.
Small Cabin = Speed Big Cabin = romper room In past experience a good throw down never won a race:p |
