Thanks for giving us the info. But who did the survey, your guy or someone provided by the broker ?

How did the surveyor know it was a 540/650 ? If you have a beef with anyone, maybe you should be pointing fingers at him ?

my surveyor not theirs. he was told by the broker it was 540/650 and thats what he specified on the survey. its not like he was gonna hook it to a dyno or tear it down to measure the cubes. the surveyor also test drove the boat but sometimes the top speed of a boat is limited to driver skill and water conditions so whos really at fault? buyer beware is ok but its a shame there are so few honest businesses around.

Its a 515cid based off of a 40 over 502cid short block. Got a lumpy cam in it, dart intake, 850 carb, lighting dry headers, box stock 310cc dart pro 1's makes 630hp 680tq..
junk 1.50 bravo one drive with a nose cone, 28p bravo one prop that was played with alittle bit.
Cruise 63-65mpg at 3800-4000rpm 84-85mph at 5700-5800
Motor doesn't make a ton of power but tq comes in low and strong due to the set up we have and BOAT and DRIVER will handle the chop with ease

I'm assuming you go through bravo's with a tank of gas? Especially with the tq's coming in low. Sounds like a nasty set up. Is it your primary or a poker run boat?

This year was the first time with this motor/drive set-up. I have 2 spare drives just in case. I never broke the bravo one drive YET this year...I plain off easy and back off the throttle when in the air. This way of running it is keeping it alive I think. Most of the time i am boating with my girlfriend and our 2 kids so we just cruise around but when i am out without them the motor is at 4K and will be run flat out sometimes. The fun run we did in the hudson river in NY in Oct I held it WOT for 5-6 mins and oil temp, oil psi, water temp was perfect and drive oil drianed out clean after the run.
This is my primary boat, poker run boat, fun run boat, go out and have a good day on the water boat, and go out and kill single engine boats boat....
It really is a great boat for what it is and most people on my boat will say it handles the chop well.

seems a bit one sided putting all the blame on coty if all he did was broker the boat. If he or the surveyor did not have the motor apart how would they know the true size of the motor. Considering all you payed the surveyor for was his professional opinion, he should share the blame.

2 different boats, from the same dealer, specify identical cubic inch and horsepower. 1 was proven to be bull s. the other unknown if it is a legit description or not. that sounds proper to u?

so what your saying is 2 total strangers both wanted to sell their boats for more money both lied to the same broker both made up the same engine specs for their boat and it was ok because the broker is not responsible for any errors?

or

both owners of 2 different boats were both lied to from their engine shop that their motors were both something that they werent and both told the broker what they were led to believe was the real specs on their motors? so both engine shops made up the same exact lie?

explain that to me

when i sea trialed the boat, the person that came with me (because the previous owner was no where to be found), claimed they were the mechanic of the boat. when asked where the motor was built they told me that they had installed the motor in the boat but didnt kno where it was built.
