Default Not Bad for a Clip On ;)

Check this guy out. I know some really fast O/B guys but this is pretty impressive.
Watch the meter (GPS) pin @ 120 while the boats still pullin hard!
Reports are he's turned a 36" wheel 7400 through 1.62 gears.
With 10% slip boys and girls, that's 140.2
If we drop slip to a more likely 8% (very light boat) we're @ 143.3
Most O/B's going this fast are full tilt, work bench, race motors and most full of juice. This thing idles like a Singer and is as quiet.
Very impressive.

Wondering how many on this site realize how reasonable a toy like this is?? Thinking the guys w/the high zoot boats, cars, bikes etc woul;d have a hoot w/one on a weekday after work....
That rig all new, turn key would run probably $50K but I know of another one very similar in absolute perfect condition (probably 120+ boat) that sold I think in the $20's.
Very easy to drive and actually relatively safe if your anal w/your pre flight check list, wear your gear and don't drive over your head.
I've been into the teens several times in friends boats and if conditions are correct you don't feel it all.
We had a guy run 151+ in a near identical boat w/a nitrous motor a couple yrs back.

Boatman, agreed. Shows how lucky/spoiled we O/B guys are being able to control X dimension w/a button on the dash. Also shows it is possible to completely surface a gear case. A guy over seas even did it w/a stock gear case! (99% you don't need a cone except for water p/u and most of my 80 mph boats ran faster w/o them) Installed a transom water p/u and put a blower on his 225 Honda O/B and went over a 100 with it.
Another thing you learn to respect are props and lower units when being surfaced. Absolutely amazing they live at all in that condition. After seeing that it put L/U maintenance way up on my list compared to where it was before and I was rewarded w/much better L/U life.
