Thank you and thanks to the other guys that defended my criticism. I'm relatively young compared to a lot of the guys here. So maybe its a generational thing, but my generation expects more.

I would like to see OL make a 28 hull design that does it all including, but not limited to:
1) I'd like to see a cabin that is big enough for AC and portapotty and can sit 3-4 people.
2) I'd like to see a 28 hull design that is deep enough to be used in a sit down configuration or a stand up - whatever the customer wants. The option of drop down bolsters for the back seats would be nice because you could stand more people.
3) I'd like to see a 28 hull design capable of twin big blocks or single.
4) I'd like to see a 28 hull design capable of having an extended cockpit and carry up to 3 OB's. With any luck maybe have a spot for a generator to power the AC.
5) I'd like to see a 28 hull design with two different decks - one windshield, one with a fairing. For the obvious reason that no windshields are allowed on the race course.
6) I'd like to see a 28 hull design that can be an open center console or cabin boat.

Tex, I dont think OL would ever have any intention of making such a 28.
If someone wants an OL w/ all of those ammeneties just get the 41.

By keeping the 29 simple(one design), it will keep the costs down.

And why would you like to see OL do all this?
I know that pantera and saber could do almost all you are asking for already.

Or you could easily see OL do all what you are asking for... just need some $ to order your fleet of them.

I see this boat as a "hot-rod" designed to be fast with moderate power. And it sounds like they got the performance. However, the looks just don't do it for me. The "bustle" or whatever you call it looks out of place and the interior looks like an older auto interior. I also agree with Tex the engine compartment looks unusually cramped.

Now, by no means am I calling the boat "ugly" it just isn't what I like. That doesn't mean I am right or wrong, that is just my opinion. If I were looking at a new 27-30 single I would look elsewhere, but that is again just my opinion.

I just saw some pics of it in the water, were posted on FB. I know one thing, after seeing it in person and now in pics on the water I just don't care for the bustle/hatch/lines of the rear from the end of the windshield back. It drops off too fast, too round or something. The line of the deck needs to continue all the way to the stern IMHO. Overall its a pretty neat boat for the right application, kind of like owning a chopper vs a road king. Tex wants a road king, some guys want a stripped down hot rod, to each his own. To those of us that use a boat to sleep on and for more than a couple people blasting around the lake on a day trip it is a bit impractical. Performance wise, it sounds like fun.

In all fairness to Ol and all of the other manufacturers, it is unfair to critique a boat from your arm chair. The boat looks good, but you will never know how good or how bad it is untill you physically see it in person. I think its nice but I can already tell that its not for me. Would I reccomend it to a friend? If I was asked, I would reserve my comments untill I personally laid eyes on it and inspected it first hand. Only then, could I even start to critique a boat that I have never seen in person nor driven. The jury is still out, at least for me.

The Pics of the boat in the water do it a lot more justice then at the boat show. OL will build that boat any way you want it for the right price. I wonder if that 600 sci has stage 1, 2 or 3 from dustin already in it.
