What is wrong w/ this thread, for 3 or more days I couldn't get past page 30, although it said there was a page 31?

The engines I built for Bob were actually 1580 HP and the boat ran right around 169 MPH. I had the opportunity to run with Bob. I really wish they would have ran these at the kilo. The whole Race Crafter thing was a last minute decision and they were offered them for the kilo claiming they made 2200 HP. I would build blown alky engines if ever the chance comes along to set a record as a builder and they would live for a kilo.

hell if i ran 120plus i would be tickled to death, lots of haters (maybe jealous) theyre both great boats yes i got a fountain would i want a outerlimits you bet, but theres always going to be haters in everything thats just life. enjoy what you got and dream for the next one. cause in the worlds economy things are getting tougher we all come on here to read, talk crap. make friends, and enemies but the one thing is were all boaters, we or atleast i live for this stuff. so what really happened at the kilo run, was it a break down or or did they(fountain) have a gun at a knife fight ? and it was better to blame that after all the trash talk to leave than to take a beating on the course. just curious !! and so are others, and im not trash talking outerlimits they are my favorite.

Fountain's Cat Killer pulled a 2 way average over 170 and due to mechanical difficulties Outerlimits XXX didn't make it off the trailer to participate.

Hello Jerry Haney. Everyone talks about the fastest and at this time it is still the Catkiller. But what about the other records in smaller boats with smaller engines? Who owns the kilo in V with single engine? Who owns all other records in what used to be F2. When comparing the fastest lets state size and class. Most records in all V classes belong to Fountain. Where are all the other manufacturers records. Just saying. There may be a record run later this year to knock Fountain off, but time will tell. Maybe Outerlimits or someone else will built 6000 horsepower 950 cubic inch engines and put them in a 42 foot boat and run 250 miler per hour and claim to be the fastest. I have always felt, compare boat length with same power to get the fastest, not who can put the most in the engine bay.

I assume you are related to Jack Haney, former Fountain exec? I am with you on the record run at the Fountain factory, but alot have years have passed since then, I believe the OL camp has their sh*t together (an assumption), and will break the record, just takes $,$$$,$$$ to build the boat with that kind of power, and testing (debugging). But does it really matter if the OL would run faster than 177 mph in a two-way pass? OL builds a nice boat, and they are busy building new boats per a thread I just read. I like Fountain and OL, the OL cheerleading section had really turned me off towards the brand, but regardless of whether I like an individual(s), a good boat is a good boat, and OL makes some dam nice boats that perform well, and the OL cheerleaders have been relatively quiet and humble lately.

I like the kilo runs, makes for interesting banter.

The record was not set by the actual cat killer boat.

Outerlimits is still in business, and apparently, doing well. Perhaps the boating world is better off in the long run with more spending on new models and customer satisfaction, and a lot less on braggadocio and BS helicopter stunts. It obviously didn't benefit Fountain, nor its customers. Nor, the other great brands brought to their knees by an irresponsible management team, or two even.

But hey, they'll always have their videos to look at ;)

Ya or maybe Reggie just got tired of destroying the competition, his boats still run well in races, and look how old they are!!! Always gonna be haters on something.

People want to bad mouth Fountain and outerlimits are just narrow minded people. I love my Donzi's but when it comes to Racing, The Fountain Global Warmer is one of the nicest v's out there, and that OL Rockey Mt Brewery boat is one Georgous boat.

I agree, things have been peaceful with we need some more good natured bantering to keep things interesting but without the blind brand loyalty, that sometimes goes along with a defense of a point or position of mind.

We'll let's start some sh*t, the SV 43 just can't seem to get it right at Key West for the past two or three years, Fountain still wins, consistency. I know there there were mechanical problems, but (here comes the ball busting), winners find a way to podium, the losers go back on the trailer and drink beer out of the cooler (which is OK with me), for I would have rather tried and lost-failed, then to not try at all. BUT, If you are racing an OL SV43 more often then not I would expect a checkered flag, I understand mechanical equipment fails, but preparation and thorough pre race checking (get a six sigma - zero defect mentality) go along way to more podium-checkered flag finishes. So what is the deal, why not a SV 43 World Championship? But maybe Fountain just has a hex on the OL boats, whether it be the kilo run or a on the race course, what else could it be? When it comes to the twin engine class, Fountain was and apparently still is the best for time being, maybe in 2013 the hex will be broken. And for the OL loyalits, I do not give a sh*t about the limited success in Europe, I am intertested in the USA racing, APBA-Jersey Boyz, ect. Win where it matters, Key West!

I am not really busting balls, I am just surprised that the SV43 has not had better success, when it is clearly a fast boat.

BUT to go into the 180+ mph range for two passes, for the record would be entertaining, maybe that would be the niche for the boat.

Well said Smarty. Funny thing is those guys want to crack jokes that Fountain went out of business. But what's even more pathetic, is a company that still is in business & able to build the latest & greatest cant beat 3,4&5 year old boats!!! Now that's funny!!!
