Anyone need a deck/boat hand for their highend offshore boat/company and wanna start me at north of 80k? LOL

Dont quit your job KID, and acting like Sunkin has proven to be a poor example of a person just as you descibed above... see once you lie, you have to keep lying to keep face...then you drink the koolaid thinking your unstopable..the best...putting everyone else down that can't hang, or has tried to hang.. didn't you try to keep up w/ the statement boat.

Yes, and we did until we got a fuel leak. Stopped, fixed it and went back on our way. We were on the wood for sometime, surely wasn't for the faint of heart.

ah,thought is was the oil pressure alarm went off, sucked the silos dry and had to slow down to let the oil drain from the top end.sound about right.7000rpm for 2mins was all it could take.know the fix was to add 2 scavange lines to the back of the head.
and i guess you can say the engines were on conservative mood, since redline was 7800rpm and 1800hp,but you were only given 7000-7200rpm limit.and it was put there a couple of times.

Bullhead 02-21-2012 01:31 PM

I was there on a 47 Fountain with 1200's....we were one of the first boats to leave after lunch...... we were running 110 in some fairly choppy water and both the OL and The Statement passed us like we were sitting still....I believe the Statement was running turbine engines....it was pretty cool that morning but had warmed up considerably by lunch

That Statement moves out!!!

Actually, as I recall there was a video of these two cats running that day, I think it was shot from the Statement (although I could be wrong). I dont know if the OL was running wide open, but the Statement was slowly walking away.

Why in the world do you keep talking like you were there? RPM was actually 7400rpm for 2+ minutes and oil psi started to drop a little, and yes, cure was to put 2 more lines but don't get me started on all that crap. Motors were also not setup at 1800hp, they were closer to 1600hp for the KW run as they had the larger pulley and the excessively rich tune.

Again, I was in the boat for the entire run so I know what happen. Oil psi started to drop, backed off to 6500rpm then smelled fuel. Turned out somebody forgot to tightent the little 1/4" SHCS that secures the fuel rail to the manifold, and that is why we stopped, took 15 minutes to fix while everyone passed, and then ran by ourselves to the lunch stop.

We ran and kept up with the statement for a damn good distance which is pretty good considering they've got nearly 2250+hp turbines.

Its when we were slowing down at it was from the statement boat, but not sure if the Statement was WOT, I just know we were both going around 170mph and we were full of 116 octane fuel, tools, testing equipment, 6 people......

Haha, I was kinda thinking the same thing, only I'd settle for deck handing on a boat like yours.....but my salary needs are about 6 figures. Looks like GM's never giving anyone a raise anyways so time to move on to "mooch" as a title.....:evilb:

Bostonirish 02-21-2012 04:44 PM

Sutphen30 what are you trying to prove? Jeez! Give it a rest dude. If I owned any of the previously mentioned OL's I would say they did 200 mph! Who gives a sh_t. Awesome boats ol keep up the good work

You can always put gas in mine :) I have dual controls so I might even let ya take the wheel :lolhit:

I have no dog in this fight but this is how I see it. Back in the day Fountain and OL were talking trash. When it came time to prove it one boat set a speed record while the other boat didn't even come off the trailer. This might bother some people.

Just sayin.

Funny you say that! Indeed it is. The week prior I was actually ejected 3-6 times (lost count so coulda been more). And prior to this almost rolled my freightliner and boat combo on the highway. It's always an exciting time just trying to splash the boat for a relaxing day on the water when you live like sunkin folks....

Good point and very true....BUT that is what we call HISTORY. Its fun to remember the old days and I seriously doubt that would ever happen again. But if it did, I think we all know who to put our money on at this point.........Outerlimits

Seriously though, unless Reggie got into the epoxy and carbon cooking game, I dont see how he could compete today(showroom boats, not with a one run wonder potato chip).

I sometimes dream of the day I can get canned.....let the house short sale, move back to Kansas City and live in my folks basement. In the 14 years since I've moved out they've added a double tap bar, double commercial margarita machines and a bad ass pool table! Where was that stuff when I was in HS?:daz:

-Just got home from Miami.

No hate here!

Glad to see the Outerlimits guys doing well. Their new 29 looked incredible. The booth looked great, was greeted with a sincere, friendly simile by Mike and his staff. These guys are genuine people with a true passion for waht they do. So impressed, in fact this Cigarette owner bought an Outerlimits sweatshirt!

-Looking forward to taking a test ride in the new 29, a good friend is interested as it would be perfect for our lake up here.
