Well, we got a big problem here. We got almost everybody on this thread in a rant and rage pity party!
There is a lot of good points being made here and some good knowledge of what's really driving this gasoline and diesel insane price market! There's a bigger problem!

The real big problem here is kinda summed up by Powerplay J's post just before this post. Apathy !

We as the people and citizens of this great country just take getting kicked in the huevos as an everyday bearable thing that we can't do anything about and should not fret over but just go along and take it. Just like a bunch of sheep being led to the slaughter house!

We somewhat rightly blame our dilemas on our government and something we don't really have any control over! Hell, people, listen to yourselves, we are the friggen government, this is our democracy still and we have the power to change things! We need to raise our voices, vote for PUBLIC SERVANTS, not politicians who will enforce the will of us, the people.
We need to make sure that there are TERM LIMITS, LIMITED LOBBYING, CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM !! , THE REVOKING OF THE HUGE FARM, INDUSTRY AND OIL COMPANY SUBSIDIES FOR ENTITIES GETTING HUGE TAX SHELTERS AND MAKING OBSCENE PROFITS!! AND AS FOR SPECULATION -IF YOU BUY IT YOU MUST TAKE DELIVERY OF IT TO BUY IT!!
We as disatisfied and angered Amercians need to make sure as much as we cry and whine and take time to write these posts that we also take the time to CALL & EMAIL your elected officials, let them know your feelings and make our soon to be elected officals pledge that they will enforce our wills in their office and that we will accept nothing less! Raise your voice, be heard! Talk to your friends, co-workers and neighbors, educate your children. Make sure you study the facts , don't believe the propaganda and bullsh*t! Make your votes count and lets make a difference!
Tell the rest of those who sit on the sidelines who do and say nothing to GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!
We've got a lot of work to do if there is any hope of resurrecting our great economy, our society and the future of the Greatest Nation on Earth!
We all need to become leaders not followers!

Ray , you are a master of the the spoken (typed) word . I understand how this has to have a huge negative impact on not only your business but all marine related businesses . We are all suffering together here and together is the only way out . So , i for one will take the good (wise) advice garnered from this thread and put it to good use . Like Gov. Jesse Ventura said , career politicians are self serving . Our forefathers meant for our leaders to come from their particular walk of life , fulfill their elected duty and go back home to their life . Only in this way will the people be served . Raylar, what you said is dead on. However, I fear that the smart, well informed voter is in the minority. We are out numbered (and also being out breeded) by special interest, career welfare voters, under educated, and those brain washed by media. Just look at what is elected by this country and look at the path this country is on - it isn't pretty.
Other than a full fledged revolution, not sure we are able to enct the needed change.

I'm frustrated as bad as anyone, and the only way I know to lessen the pain for us, personally, is to buy energy mutual funds.... At least we can make some money off these crazy gas $$.

More name calling from the Right(Wrong) who woulda thunk it. But you're right we don't need more Japanese Priuses we need more affordable American Volts.

You should want more electric vehicles on the road. Think about it; the more electric cars there are on the road, the more gas and diesel there'll be for boats and tow vehicles. It's a win-win.

WRONG!!! We DON'T need more SUBSIDIES for ANY type of vehicle that is NOT as efficient as the Greenies want us to believe. This whole line of crap about "subsidize green energy companies" to lessen our reliance on foreign oil is BS! DRILL HERE!! DRILL NOW!!! And build the DAMN PIPELINE!!!

Crazy talk. Wake up! If the pipeline is built the oil will go everywhere BUT America. The demand is in Asia and that's where it will go. Big Oil doesn't give a damn about this country it's all about profits and there are no oil profits here.

Hate to break this to ya, but who the hell do you think your hero's working for? If the big O thought the pipeline would speed up the oil to China, he'd be out building the damn thing himself!

I actually agree with this line of thought. Are oil companies foreign or domestic, going to line the American peoples pockets with cheap fuel? or sell it to the highest bidder in another country and line their own pockets.
