For one Jim, my motors are not 850hp, they were 793 and 796 on the dyno sheets (I call them 800s). Second, I'll go you one better on the gas and go race - how about we put 91 octane in our tanks and we run 150 mph and see who wins? Oh, I forgot, your boat wouldn't run 150 even if you put race gas in it! Any time you'd like Jim, I'll offer you $10,000.00 to come out, fill my boat with 91 octane pumps gas at the marina, and beat my big blocks with your small blocks (any gas you want in yours). You continue to run your mouth about what POS big blocks are, so come out to California and prove it! You could use the $10k to rebuild your own motors. You choosing off the big block boats is like me choosing off the blower motor boats - STUPID! As Uncle Dave posted, there's always somebody faster - and unfortunately for you - your boat is at the bottom of the food chain. Everybody told you that you were going in the wrong direction with your build (Pete, Rik, myself), but you were so convinced that you were going to set the world on fire with your LS7 powered 30, and it failed. Every big block powered 30 built will outrun your boat. And as for you beating a 28, I've got another $10k that says I can spank your 30 with my buddies 28 down in Havasu. Want to take me up on that one as well? We'll have the race video'd from shore to post on here for everyone to see!

Not debating that anyone can make a claim.

"why don't you ever let it be known how fast your boat is Jim"

Seems to me at the very least Jim publicly made a claim and put a stake down.

Now Jim has to live up to it around guys that can run faster than him when they all end up together on a lake/ or water for the moment of truth.

Although I dont fully agree with his death of the big block stance, hes hardly out of place touting LSX's in an Ilmor 570 thread.

And for the record, it is not because my boat is lighter than yours that it is so much faster, as my boat will top 150 with full tanks and passengers (1,500+ pounds). But you are correct that you are comparing apples to oranges when trying to compare small blocks to big blocks in perfromance boats.........

I'd love to, but it won't happen for me (too far, too much time away). Plus, you're boat would kick both of our asses! I know when I'm beat, can't compare naturally aspirated horsepower to supercharged horsepower. My boat is slow by today's standards, with everybody running supercharged and turbocharged motors. The day somebody runs faster than 160 with naturally aspirated/pump gas motors is the day I'll feel bad though, but not until then........... I love my Skater!

Aluminum blocks can take a lot more than 600hp but they can't be bored out to 4.185" to make a 454 without sleeves.

Depends on the block.

I can buy a Brodix "small block" with 4.5 inch spacing that comes standard holes at 4.180 and can go to 4.250.
