Based on what I can see, it looks like a nice system!
EDIT: Never mind, these look like they are 4V heads, but not DOHC heads like we were talking about...

The Arao heads are not DOHC heads. They are just 32 valve heads. I have also wanted to use them but just haven't found the right application. Their flow numbers are pretty damn impressive. They also don't come cheap.
TruePower made some DOHC heads. I originally thought they were for a BBC but after looking further, they used an Eagle aluminum block with 5.0 bore spacing. According to the dyno pulls, they made over 1400 hp on pump gas with their DOHC heads and a PSI.

Saw these at the LA Roadster Show the other week. Pretty clean looking but they were on a car.

When I spoke with Merc on the 1300s, the new block was supposedly created to keep the oil pressure up on the new heads, hence they had to develop a new block with new oil galleys for the heads. They quoted me "if we could've just used the heads, not re adapt the oiling system we'd have saved allot of money not developing a new block"...
Now personally this sounds pretty stupid to me. Agreed, the integrated package is fantastic. However, for the DOHC heads, you could adapt them, and just simplistically thinking, if you were an efi package, and went ahead and ran a multi-stage dry sump pump, you could run each set of heads on a stage...I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work just fine...
I was thinking about this the other day, the merc is a package, it has nothing to do with the turbos, they wanted to debut the turbo charged vs supercharged, but there is NO reason you couldn't bolt a PSI or a large Whipple up to this and make some serious power.
I personally would rather have a charger. On a side note and header design, they're using the log manifolds, the reason, easy, they don't want anything cracking, the heads and the combo already makes gobs of power so what are you really losing. This header debacle is ridiculous....for the 30-50hp you lose from not running big headers, you just add 1lb of boost...
Anyway, just my .02...cents

It's not it hasn't been done in racing apps, it hasn't been done with BIG BLOCKS....
You can get anything you want with a 350...383....**** a stroked out 427...minute you hit the 500cu mark...things change...
We need Torque, you aren't pushing a 38, 42, 47, 50 anything with small blocks at the speeds we run...
I know Bob Russel had a crazy set of PSI / DOHC motors in his 47GTX as I recall correctly, this was many moons ago before the technology was around to tune them reliably...I dont think they ever ran well, but I know of a large builder in Michigan *hint hint* I think is working on something...last I heard through the grape vine..

The issue they have is the durability of all those parts and the deflection in the multiple pushrods.

Thanks for the input on my question "PROS"...........sarcasim!
