You're right, comparing Alez and the Chief is definitely comparing apples to oranges, thanks for supporting my points.:lolhit:

I'm sure we can run the #6 props from the Chief on Alez. The 50 hp difference Sean mentions can make up for the wet vs. dry sump. The boat was laid up in the late 90's, it's pretty old. Hammerhead runs low 90's..... We can go on and on. I'm also pretty sure Clifford, the Saber, had some new fancy props on that boat, it had 1075s.

Anyway, it's a pointless discussion so I'm moving on.:thankyouthankyou::thankyouthankyou:

Best of luck to Checkmate in your endeavors.

I would like to know your thoughts on the Pantera 41 straight bottom with the stepped inserts compared to the other 41 stepped bottoms being built. Who has the most efficient hull.

The Pantera runs very well with small power, Which speaks volumes for its bottom's ability to run dry quickly, Plus I removed the horse shoe looking strakes dating back to the Cigarette roots and placed the lift strips parallel with the keel (water flow).

i like the shifter layout of the dash.
kinda up an outta the way... and the throttle are right where you need them.
gotta make it easier to get behind the helm.

I'm going to say the 41 Pantera is a more suitable comparison to the Checkmate. What will the Pantera run with 950hp a side? Have they made one with big power yet? Didn't the 41 Pantera run 89.5 with 525's? That's impressive!
