Just to do a little math. My guess is that your boat was about 81-82 mph with the 2 x 675 hp motors so you would see about a 5-6 mph increase going to 800 hp. Now the SCX or Konrad ect. will probably scrub 2+ mph off that, so it'll leave you at 86 at best. The interesting thing is, that the ASD#7M will most likely put you at atleast 94+.

It is a twin step boat and the boat ran low 90's with the 675's. I may have to detune the motors to 750hp. and go easy on it. Here is a boat with decent power that ran good with XR's http://www.lipship.com/used_boats/view/37
The boat you show is a 38 though. Quite a diff in terms of how hard the drives are loaded and balance. I still say you will be 5-10 mph better off with the ASDs and the reliability is second to none. You also get the rooster:coolcowboy: With a speed of say 92 running xrs and 675 hp the 800 hps and Konrads or SCXs will put you at 98ish at best. and 750 hps around 96ish. |
The scx and the sc lower should be fine for it, that way it will be the same depth maybe even a quarter inch deeper. the imco upper and helmet are bigger than an xr so it moves it back about an inch. if you go with the scx lower it comes standard -2 then you can space down as needed. also you can send the scx lower to wilson and have it blue printed. MDG here in MD did an scx/sc swap on a twin step and it ran fine, just like before, believe it had bumped up 575's. I will be going imco when the time comes to add whipples or turbos to my tiger.

How about a set of Ilmor Indy drives/transmissions? They are listing a used set (factory demo boat) for $52,000 on their web site. http://www.ilmormarine.com/, then "Store", then "Clearance Engines". Teague is selling an 825 hp package with these drives, so you should be fine.

I second the Indy idea! They look amazing, will probably net you a few mph over any bravo setup, and its always nice to be one of the first.

Put on x power no brainer

But yeah, your boat with X-power drives is AWESOME. Hopefully see you at boyne again this year |

This is a perfect application for the Arneson #7M's. Speed increase, stability increase and reliability!!
