Default 8 yr old killed in boating accident

I cant find the link so ill just type out what i read in the newspaper. Very sad to hear a story like. My condolences to the family.
"An 8yr old at a family reunion in putnam county was killed friday when the boat she was in lurched under a dock while she was sitting in a seat in the front of the boat. The driver missed an attempt to maneuver onto a boat lift at the end of a St Johns river boat ride around 6pm. On a second approach, the 23' bowrider lurched ahead and under the dock, according to the florida fsh and wildlife commision. Olivia Wade of sprinfiield, Pa was sitting in the seat and hit the dockShe was taken to Putnam county medical center where she was pronounced dead. The accident happenened in the 400 block of West river road north of Palatka. Among six at the reunion three were from Pa and three were from Jax"

Just tragic. Horrible. I have a 3 and 5 year old and a 23' bowrider. The kids will not be in the bow when docking from now on. May God rest her soul.

We have 11 and 20 years old girls, and that's a good idea, no sitting in the bow, when we are docking...
Such a shame, may she RIP

Many people focus on boating skills such as navigation, rights of way, knot tying, etc. This is a very sad reminder of just how important docking skills are. So sad.

It is against the law to sit on the bow when the boat is moving! RIP! So sad!
