I`ll have to say Texoma does have some valid points.
First I`ll say I don`t think any 25' boat is a good choice for Lake Michigan. I got pretty beat up on my Tantrum, the stand up bolsters killed my legs and back and usually the boat would come down so hard I thought it was going to break in half. First bravo 1 lasted 2 months I think.. the second XZ, 20 easy hours until I opened it up ONE time.
Current XR seems to be doing fine however for sleeeeevelss.

No TQ steer but constant adjustments to drive and tabs to get a decent ride and to prevent what I used to call "shooting for the moon". I guess thats whats called a 'drivers boat' ?
Chine walk scared me. Watching Addictions video I was taken back to how the boat used pitch side to side most of the time.

These are my experiences but I`ve never had another brand smaller boat so this may all be 25' related issues on Lake Michigan

This was typical "shooting for the moon" no matter the drive adjustments

Current boat is like a cadillac, no need for tabs, sit down bolsters are great, no crazy wind in my face, just point and shoot and it goes, 33 spans the waves so much better, no coming down so hard you thing your fillings are gonna fly out of your mouth, Lake michigan needs a 30+ footer imop
I'm gonna let the Lake Michigan excuse fly and not blame it on the guy behind the wheel lolol... The tantrum runs nice and straight. Once I get the drive and tabs set, thats it, unless conditions change and play a part. The XR is holding up great and we have defintely launched a few times. Just be quick to throttle back so the drive doesn't become too loading on re-entry. Came across a few waves, went out fairly level.

Every boat has a learning curve, you just never gave it a chance Ice! But it didn't suit you so you moved on. Its all good!
I agree, your boat went through those cross waves pretty damn good!

People want different things from a boat. Many enjoy a "driver's boat" for the thrill and excitement. Others want a boat that is easy to drive. IMO most of the smaller boats(25' and under) that perform well in snotty water are a "driver's boats" and of course a larger boat will go through the same water easier.

The people that enjoy a "driver's boat" would be bored in a bigger boat doing the same speeds. The people that want a larger boat for ease of driving through snotty water don't want to deal with the attention and focus a "driver's boat" requires.

Neither is good or bad, just different wants and needs to satisfy people's powerboat enjoyment.

I wasn't going to bust your balls about blowing drives cause I don't know your experience or driving habbits but I had a stock bravo behind my 600 horse 525sc pushing a heavier boat than the AT and never had an issue. I know a guy pushing 700 through a stock bravo on his 3rd yr in a TANK 29 saber

Drock in the end get the boat that you like the best and just make sure you get a ride on both of them before you purchase, then I'm sure you will have found out which one you will like the best. Good luck on your search!
I thought you were done with me?

Nobody said you had to agree with my opinion. You won't even give us an opinion to disagree with. Absolutely no problem with giving an opinion on two boats I've never been in so long as I give a disclaimer and don't pretend to of owned one like Sunkin. My have the tables turned in this thread.

Thank you for laying off the personal insults.

Both of you STFU....!!!!!! Be the bigger man and end it.. Go slap each other around through PM's. Half of this thread is the two of you spitting garbage.

Drock, if I think about it later, I'll post up some Youtube links from my Tantrum running... I have runs from the bay area and surrounding rivers.. For a 25', I am still lovin' the AT

The 21 apache scout his borther sold; the motor blew up first time out. I've got to assume the apple doesn't fall far from the tree........
The person that bought my brothers 28 knew of the accident and the repairs that were done. Do you consider 3 miles to come buy the boat a long distance? He is a friend of the family for at least 30 years. When this person put the boat up for sale it had nothing to do with my brother. When the boat did sell it went to another boater from our area that knew of the boats history. And it is still on the bay every summer. Tex, If you don't have true info to share I would appreciate it if you would just lurk and not post.

Tex,where do you get your infomation from? I sold my 28 to a good friend of mine and he ran it hard for 5 years with no problems and knew everything about the accident, and i sold my 21 to another good friend and he ran it for a whole season before he melted a piston because he ran 87 octane on high compression 2.5L offshore. And guess what they are still good friends, i guess i am not that bad of a person or a crook!

What an A$$
