Yeah, what he said. Be sure it isn't the one. Otherwise they are nice boats. Looked at a few Sonics and liked them but never a 28.

I am on my 13th season with my Tantrum. Built in '99 with a 502 MAG/MPI and a Bravo drive. Spins a 26P Bravo 1 propto 5,000RPM and has run a tick over 70 with optimum conditions. The boat is very "spirited" (lack of a better word) in the rougher water and is definately a drivers boat. She will $hit and git and surprise the crap out of other boats in big water. The 28 Sonic is a good boat, but you will need bigger power to get it to run fast (heavier boat). I love my boat and I think you will to if you join the Cult!

Personally I wouldn't buy either, but if I must choose from your choices I'd pick the sonic for reliability reasons and the bigger cabin. The 25 AT will be a headache with big power.........short rebuild time, hard on drives, torque steer, and their just flat out ugly. Neither boats were built to handle speeds over 80mph so might as well get the cruiser. When they say "its a drivers boat" that means its going to be hard to drive and will handles like chit if you don't pay attention and constanty stay on top of the controls. That sonic will be much easier to drive with twins if it doesn't porpoise. You'll be able to sip your beer cruising 50mph. If it has hydraulic steering it will probably drive itself, unlike the AT.

Disclaimer - never been on either boat, but have had a "divers boat" and it sucked for me cause I boat to relax not race.

He's right the 25 looks out of proportion (short and fat).

28' Apache. Handle any water you throw at it and not fast enough to scare you lol. Seriously D I was looking at one yesterday. Tex has his available. It would suit you well.

Almost any 25' looks out of proportion imo. Problem with a 1990 is that its hard to get financed. Doesn't it ride fly ass heavy like any other 28 with twin BBC? the motor in the AT is very reliable and maybe 50hrs on it, nothing wild. Was leaning towards the 25 because its small enough to put on most any lake but yet will handle lake Michigan or LSC for a weekend
