I frequently make runs alone. I'm a licensed captain running a supply boat in the gulf. I have a work schedule of 28 days on and 14 days off. My wife is a nurse and works 3 days a week. So if I'm home and she's working and Im not tinkering with boat, I'll lower the lift and take it out. Then I text her pictures of me being on boat while shes working and that pisses her off. Lol.

I agree with others most relaxing time in the world. I've ran out and just killed engines drifting and listening to radio at which point I can polish stainless and stuff just enjoying life.

This post fits me to a t. I love the time alone with the tunes that I want to hear. No body saying to fast to loud or whatever. To Matt post #24 you have the same people I have around me. Thanks Matt for the deal on the corsa mine has been broke for a couple of seasons. Now I can run hard without nobody having any idea who it is.

I agree with above, nothing is quite as enjoyable for me as being out by myself, listening to some tunes, and no one else around.

Oh yea. I love to enjoy the boat by myself. Boating is me so it is all me when I boat alone. I love to boat on full moon nights alone too. Bright night, calm water, peace and quiet with the boat, just awesome.

Boating with the family and friends is like sharing my passion but it is so rich and full by myself.

I have done it all four ways (in boat alone with group of boats; in boat with someone in group of boats; with someone and no other boats and alone/alone) in all styles and sizes of boats and I have found the key factor is being on the water!

Alone/alone I tend to do more exploring to places I have not been, ride the tide, have more patience to see the gators and manatees in the mangroves or canals: be a tourist.

I understand some of the trepidation about having a problem, but it has always seemed to have worked out. The one concern that does bother me is when out in a larger boat and have the wind kick up or wave action and no one at the dock/ramp seems to be willing to give a hand to keep from damaging my or other property! And yes it has happened!

Luckily I've been able to go solo boating half the time, which I enjoy doing.. It's very relaxing and you can go at the pace you want to go. Hear the roar of the engine, the wind, and water. Plus I've had no problems with docking my boat by myself. I'm just not a fan having a boatful of people in my boat. Only once a year and that's all. the other half of the time is with one or two other people.

Thread back from the dead? ha

I boat solo as well. Most of my friends are boaters as well. So I go out when I want and they catch up or vise versa. I love my Fridays off, I take it out all day empty boat, just me and some beers, music anc cleaning, then maybe some partying that night with other friends doing the same. Then Saturday morning we all pick u the girls for the weekend boating.
Or other days just me, like weeks days.

I to love people, but it helps most have there own boats... so mine is room for just me and the girl.

also RAREly, but when its just going to be and another boater, we will take one boat. and thats ok as well. for the rare time. most know how anal i am and handle ropes and things the correct way.
