I know when Reggie set the Vee Bottom speed record it was with a race boat.
Outerlimits I think brought Bob Russel's Poker Run boat to North Carolina to beat Reggie ???
I am not saying what either should bring, and certainly not saying that the orange 29 OL should be the boat to challenge the Watch Your Back.
But after all, WATCH YOUR BACK seemed to be one of the fastest single engine vee bottoms out there and was built by Reggie.
It would be really awesome to see a a Fountain, OL Hustler or even a Sonic go head to head with comparable weight and power boat to see just which boat does have the fastest design...

I am not comparing the OL 29 pleasure boat that just entered a race in a shootout to the Fountain, simply wondering if there was interest in seeing someone come out with an OL 29 RACE or PLEASURE to run up against one of the fastest single engine fee bottoms out there.

better looking PLEASE, its a what 7x28 hull looks plain. the ol is a 8x29 hull more room and nice lines.I bet the ol would kill it in the rough. 4 to 5s. everyone forgets the OL isn't a fg boat. its CF and apoxy. congrats too OL nice job, if I had the cash right now. I'd order a svl 29 to race. but the saber will just have to do right now with 1100hp.

Remember this people...
I distinctly remember, perhaps it was a southern engine builder who stated that the skater vee was not drivable over 120..I need to find that thread, because there is one and it states exactly that...

I think part of the reason might be due to the extremely high percentage of your forecasted market will still need to make payments.
Guys and gals that have much cash at all (for a boat) will typically still gravitate towards larger boats. That means some new but mostly used when you're talking performance stuff in the forceable future.
The market that enjoys the 29' boat tends to still need a bank (mostly).

This is EXACTLY what I'm going up against selling my 29 Lavey. 5 buyers, 5 declinations from banks. It's getting silly.

I'd like to also point out, if Outerlimits stole the step design from Skater, why is it that Outerlimits design works, and Skater's doesn't...just curious, I guess putting steps on a boat is all Skater's design...
Cats = Skater
Vees=Outerlimits
simple as that...

Reggie: I hope you're reading this post and I hope you or someone in the industry can get into the growing market for a nice 28-29 foot single engine v-hull that will run 88-96mph with some reasonable cost 565-600HP power that can reach the buyer market for that $125Kto $150K price model. A nicely equipped boat with good moderate rough water manners, nice usable size cabin and comfortable room for 5 people and gear, now that would be the BOMB!

So with 1400lbs of extra weight (a bunch of us fat asses) and 96mph and still climbing, at Lake Havasu, 90deg F is not fast enough. Its gone 102 on the limiter, its not done. ZERO prop steer, neutral feel, zero chine..... Anyone who rides in it changes there mind almost instantly.

The skater is faster than all the other bottoms. In SV that boat had to weight more than the others just to make it fair. It was that much faster pound for pound. Same motors. So say what you want but it's History. Then OL copied the skater bottom. To try and keep up.

Ask some of the owners (or past owners) of there Skater 399's what they think about the handling.
