Once again, glad that all are OK :)

110 is an incredible number for a single engine boat with only 600HP!!! Dang!

103mph at 600hp. Still was playing with props to get the last 1-2mph out of it.

The main thing is that everyone is ok, no injuries and other than the windshield and hatch, the boat suffered no damage. It will be back on the water soon and you bet it will have mechanical indicators.

#1 thing for me was reading that crew was fine.
#2 knew it was brand new design and assumed builders/owners in control
#3 also assumed testing........., that's where we learn what the hull wants and where we find the limit or edge.

Some times when you get to that edge, you slip past it.
Gorgeous design and waiting to see what it can/will do.

Well said. I saw this boat at the Miami Boat Show and honestly it didn't look like a boat that should be running over 100 mph.

The bay has been flat all week, but it's gets tricky one wave off a cruiser or fishing boat will bounce off shore and come back out

I think the tab indicator malfunction is a convenient excuse. A light single engine boat like that you should be able to know were the tabs are blindfolded.

don't totally agree here , right after i put the big power in mine i had been riding with the wife at about 45 mph in my boat at that speed i tend to drag a little port tab to counter the tq of prop and motor . Had a friend come by on the wood so i layed in to it hard got the boat up on the pad pulling a 32 pitch to over 6000 rpm you do the math. All was good until i backed of a little and let the boat down when it hit that tab it went in to a sever chine walk un like i had ever seen , i knew we were about to get wet i had time to tell the wife to duck down and hold on. I got the boat settled down but we were shook up and after we stopped I looked down at the tabs to see what that i had left that tab down. Now i set the level with the bottom of the boat or all the way up when water will allow but never drag one when running hard.

Its a factory demo, im positive they wont be selling it as new, they will ix it if it can be and list it as factory reconditioned at a large discount, like half price at best

Was it trim indicators or a bad wave as the article quoted one of the passengers, does it go 110 or 103mph, im confused here? Is this a stock 600 or are they tweaking with the motor also?

stainless 05-16-2012 06:58 PM

Trim indicator
