The new truck is much better, the 06 truck had a 50hp programer on it and the 2011 runs much better with less gear.

It sounds like the F-350 long bed is the way to go from what I am reading from everyone.
Thanks for all of the input.
Keep it coming.

Just traded trucks and got a 2011 F-350 Crew cab long bed dual wheel 4 wheel drive. I pull a 42 Fountain, truck trailer boat and full of fuel weight was just over 26K. Long wheel base does help a lot, dual wheels help. The 6.7 is a power house, buy one with a 3.73 gear its enough if you don't change tire size.

I have driven 6 new 2012 f250 fwd extra cab 4x4 with 45 miles on them 500 miles to drop off at a job sight. They felt like the rear tires were low on air. After about 300 mile I would get us to it. I really don't like the way they drive. Go 350 duel wheels. Drive what ever you buy on the hwy. 50 miles or so. Artie

If your going SRW save your money and get the F250, SRW 350 does nothing more. F250 will tow that boat fine, but a duelly be better sure, but so would having air force one as a personal jet.

i just picked up a 2011 f350 dually with the 6.7 diesel,it has a 3.73 gear and it tows my 38 fountain like it,s not even their,my 05 f250 with a 6.0 pulled it ok,but you knew it was their,it blew the head gasgets at 78,000 miles, and now that the warranty is over,i decided it is time for it to be replaced.i loved the truck, but the 6.0 l engine is not worth a s hit.
