when you build the F350 with a 6.7 XLT, long bed crew cab and before getting all the bells and whistles the 250 is 45 and 350 is 47. Probably not enough to make or break either way. I would guess that the 250 does a little better on fuel and probably a better ride.

You must live around the corner from me! I am super happy with our new F350. We just towed our boat to Lake Mead a few weeks ago and I was very impressed with the whole experience. We have the SRW for similar reasons as you (car wash, easier parking, nanny drives it during the week so no worries about dually fenders missing). I think the ride is great and way better than the Excursion we just sold. I like the long bed for the way it looks and it has already come in handy for carrying things, plus as Dan says......more fuel. Plenty of power and nice technology. Didn't even look at getting an F250.

I am not brand loyal what-so-ever, but if I were in you're shoes I would consider the other 2 makes as well.
I personally don't have an unlimited source of income and would be concerned with ford drive train only carrying a 60k mile warranty versus the gm and dodge at 100k miles.
This is going to start war...but the truth is that Ford has really struggled since the 7.3 to put together a good diesel package. If you have deep pockets and can afford to trade up before the warranty is up then buy whatever you like...
I tried to talk my father into buying something other than a Ford, but he was stubborn and brand loyal and bought another Ford...he has more miles on loaners than he does his own truck...

I agree that Ford has had some issues. I currently have a Excursion with a 7.3 and love it. I had an F-350 7.3 and it was great too. I wouldn't touch a Ford 6.0 way too many problems. And the 6.4 got terrible fuel milage. But from what I can determine from the various forums the new (2011 and 2012) 6.7 seems to be a winner. I am not brand loyal either, but the interior appointments of the Ford are much nicer that the others and the Dodge (although the Cummins engine is great), sounds like a cement mixer from a block away.
