After spending time with the sleek and its twin berk f pumps and 454's , compared to that same boat with 350s and mercs better holeshot and low speed (20-30) handling shallow draft ,worse fuel consumption, less stable at top speed .an excellent parasail boat .

Watch modern jet boat races on YouTube - on rapids - I ran a 71 glastron v-175 (v-bottom) in rough water for years until the hull cracked up beyond my patience to repair it - had no problem keeping up with a 22 donzi in rough water - except he would be loping along at 4,000 rpm, while I was flat out at 5,500 and working my throttle hand like a mad man. It's not much worse than the high x dimension outdrives so many run today.

Been down a rabbit hole today on jets and figured this would add to the discussion: (these jets on a deep V seem to be doing fine with a little air time)
