He has an MEFI4 system which does not track misfires. Scan tool or ECU did not have a clue. Just goes to show sometimes you have to go back to basics, even with modern tech.

Jboat just dropped $2000 total because of a bad plug and wire

Not that bad. Most of it was that waste of a scanner that is most likely getting sold.

The induced misfire test would have shown any dead cylinders

+1 exactly. He did the test, but at idle

He was about to perform the test last night, but the plugs fixed it
