Take it easy on Brownie. It's his birthday and he's no doubt a little giddy.

I went to KW three years ago when Steve was throttling Tom A"s Open boat. I said "Steve, you could win more races if you were more conservative". He said " If you are not in front, there is no point in being out there". He jumped into the boat, and went out and flipped it on the first turn (while in the lead). I helped raise Steve at Cougar USA.

Do you remember Danny Ungais, the "Flyin' Hawaiian" from way back in Indy Car? (I think it was Indy.) He worked on the "crash or win" theory, and he was plenty fast. As for the winning, not so much.

No disrespect to Steve Curtis, who has won more races than most guys have lost. With the Qatar team coming in 2013 and the Victory team reportedly to follow, this class has the potential for some great battles. Game on.

I can't wait. I would travel to watch those races. With the relatively unbreakable turbine, the race should be "box to wire".

One night out (late) with Stevie and a bottle with Waterfowl on it. He came up with his mantra. "Win or swim"...... Remember..Anyone can hold a throttle down. It's lifting and managing the boats awesome power thats the hard part in these extreme boats. Scotty and I have destroyed enough equipment to realize that except for bar racing at the end of the night between racers. no one remembers if you were in front ..only who "finished" first.

Like I said Steve has earned his place at the top and the respect of Scotty and myself and the world of offshore racers. But in todays world your only as good as your last race. Which is why this matchup should be so exciting to watch.

Happy Birthday Brownie. look forward to seeing you at the Jupiter race this year and remembering our good friend Jim Houser.

Default Turbine fast

Well, maybe partially retired from turbine racing-but that doesn't mean JBS has stopped looking for better, safer, faster equipment."turbine fast" is a dying expression.I can't wait to see the new package come together and finally give the fans what they want to see-bigger,faster,and safer.

I thought you had turbines from my hometown guy here in Tucson?

I don't think you can go bigger, faster, then a turbine Mystic..
