If I were you, I'd claim it a total loss and find out what the buy back price is. It's usually 80% of what the average bid at the auction would be. So if you were able to buy it back for $2k and shop out the repairs, you could come out on top. Even better if you're willing to tackle the repairs yourself..
I don't got time to deal with it.yea the glass is thin, made real cheap LOL

Definitely back on the water but also behind the wheel, let her know that accidents happen. I would imagine it was pretty traumatic even though it was probably in slow motion. The fairer sex does not handle these things as we do and it is going to take some encouragement to get over this, i would imagine having your three year old on board really added to an already intense situation. I have been letting my GF drive more and more to get her comfortable with running the boat, this year its docking 101. I really think its important they be able handle the boat confidently, ya never know she may hafta bring it in some day on her own if something happens to me god forbid. Again its important to note accidents happen . . . to all of us. Glad they are ok

Now . . . . as far as damage. Yea thats scuffed up pretty good and the numbers seem in line with multiple stab woulds and misc lower unit carnage. Its all fixable and properly done 100% as strong as original but sounds like you are approaching "total" numbers anyway.

Default If pictures say a 1000 words... seeing it in person might say 2000!

IF, the damaged areas are available from the inside and IF the "banging" on the rocks did not cause separation or delamination... I think it looks worse to repair than it is.

The hole in the side and the transom, in many ways are more cosmetic than anything. A few solid layers of bi-ax on the backside and built up on the outside, maybe better than new!

If the first picture is the bow - bow/keel, I would be more concerned with it than the other two damaged fibreglas areas. If that is cracking from compression (the boat bouncing down on rocks) it would be curious the extent of the damage you can not see.

As for the lower unit, you likely won't know much until it is spread out on the shoppe floor!

As far as a boat being safe that has been repaired... if done right, absolutely!

DISCLAIMER: If pictures say a 1000 words... seeing it in person might say 2000!

Totalled.
Insurance company will come out better giving you the book value and selling it for salvage and parts.

You may be better off finding a boat that someone is selling due to a cracked block from poor winterizing, and putting your power in it. You could be back on the water in a week.

Prob was not "blown" into. Looks more like driven onto.

Sorry to hear about that. Women drivers are funny. Good luck. Glad everyone was safe.

I had a buddy that had a 280 velocity and he hit a 3-4 ft boat wake at a high rate of speed and needless to say everyone was thrown from the boat anyway when he landed the force of the water hitting the rear aft side of boat before transom blew out and then ripped transom away from the rest of the hull and started to take on water however it happened right in front of us and were able to get to him in time and throw him a rope and tow him in before it sank. The boat was put back together and is stronger then before the accident. He event decided to add more power so the boat runs 100mph now and has had no structural problems since! They Say any glass damage can be put back together better then it was.
With all that said it is probably a total loss.
