Keep rocking man. It looks real good

Took a break from the buffer and cleaned up the front seats....they cleaned up really good except for a little area on the passenger seat that looks like something dripped through the cover over the years and faded a couple small spots. Maybe some of that stuff for vinyl will bring it back. It's still progress!

Buffing out a boat this size is a PITA My arms feel like they are going to fall off after today

It looks like winter finally gave up. Commuting and working 6 days a week has changed to a closer location and weekends off again. Pulled the project out and ordered some parts. Will be going through the gimbals and installing bellows, bearings and whatever else needs it. I got the tig set-up going and my kid is back from commercial diving school and is welding up some more outdrive jacks. Looks like we are off to a good start.

Hey Art , is your son going to weld those jacks up underwater ? :lolhit: I'm glad he is home with top honors from the school ! Happy to see your project moving again . You two have fun .

He won't be welding those underwater, but I told him he could get the trash pump out and start dreding the pond since he has that nice dry suit with him hahahaha
In case anyone hasn't figured it out, Sam gets credit for recommending the school my son Tony went to.

Got serious and started working on it again. As soon as the paint dried on the 2nd outdrive jack, both drives got pulled off the boat and the gimbles gutted of all rotted hoses, bellows, old bearings, seals and crappy wiring for the trim switches. A few of the parts I am waiting for will be here by friday, I should have everything cleaned and ready for reassembly.
I did start tracing some of the wiring that looks like a damn birdnest in the cuddy. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to touch stuff. I'll probably just strip most of it out and run new so I know what its for and that it is hooked up correctly.

Getting everything ready to put the gimbals back together and was curious about this plastic vent tube? The one in the other gimbal is all spliced and looks like crap. Does anyone know what it is actually called and have a part number? Thanks

Nobody knows?

Pretty sure that is the water pickup tube for the speedometer. It is missing the yellow barbed connector at the end that plugs into the lower unit. You have to unplug the connector from the lower unit when you pull the drive.

The connector is part 16 in this chart. You'll have to copy and paste as for some reason the link won't save correctly.
