I doubt Gieco insures any hi performance boat. They simply are/were using the turbine as a way to advertise, I don't ever remember seeing a Gieco ad with a high performance boat in it. Mostly just personal watercraft and pleasure craft. Specialized carriers are designed for the hi performance market. Gieco says they insure motorcycles but wouldn't insure mine because it was a custom prostrate chopper. If they sponsored a motorcycle team, I wouldn't jump on them if they had a total loss just because they wouldn't insure me... Just sayin...

Doing a quick whois lookup on missgeicoracing.com, comes back to:

Registrant:
Government Employees Insurance Company
Chevy Chase, MD 20815

From a legal standpoint I'm sticking to my false advertising claims. Put your lizard on a super V or at least insure what ya run...

Just like Nascar it's no more than a mobile billboard. I don't care for Kyle Busch but still like M&M's. If a shake donates his 51' as the replacement (the gossip) maybe she will show up red and white checkered with "Buy More Saudi Oil" down the side. That's cool by me, but if they swap out the turbines for 1000hp electric motors and LI battery packs, I'll be bust'n on a shake next..

So don't wine when I chuckle at a roasted gecko. This is a big boys sport that pays nothing to be the winner. It's all for fun, or you shouldn't be playing.

Can't recall any animal rights lovers making them tape over the gecko like they did Dave's 40' half naked chick a while back.

Go Muscle Racing!! Hey Dave, pass me some smoked gecko please...

I didn't hear anyone whining (correct spelling). I just questioned why a burned down race boat seems to have become the object of your considerable anger.

It is, for sure, ironic that Geico chose to sponsor an offshore racing catamaran but does not insure cats of any kind—or any boats that run more than 70 mph for that matter.

My only question: Exactly what in Miss Geico's sponsorship of a racing catamaran constitutes "false advertising?" If Geico sponsored a green-and-yellow blimp, but turned you down on your own personal blimp insurance, would that bother you? By your logic, or at least what I can make of it, that too, would be "false advertising" for you.

Miss Geico's sponsorship of a racing catamaran without offering catamaran insurance is not, at least as I understand what constitutes "false advertising," in any way false or misleading. Ironic, for sure, strange, perhaps, but false advertising? No way—and my guess is there is any number of lawyers on this board who will chime in.

I hope you did finally find insurance for your V-bottom Warlock (that's one of the beautiful things about our country, lots of consumer choices). It's a shame that Geico (the company not the race boat), likely because of some data entry error that screwed up its powerboat database, missed out on getting your business. But I'm sure you took it elsewhere, and that's the best revenge.

As for the rest of your sentiments, I have to admit I'm lost. But then, I don't know or get everything.

I apologize for my rant which was way far out there from a new member, for certain.

Only posted my comment stating it was ironic the company I paid faithfully for years was linked to a race boat fire on a type of hull they refuse to insure. Then got dogged for it. I found other coverage, don't own a tunnel hull, no problem.

Once again no disrespect to the teams, or any Offshore Only members. Just found it funny [thinking others might] that most members on here couldn't get boat insurance from a company so involved in your industry and sport..

If it said Papa Johns Pizza and ran 200+ would you like any less?
