Posting the contents of a private text or message, especially concerning a business deal, and worse, for no other reason than in a lame effort to make oneself look "better", or "right",...continued bad form IMHO.

If someone I was trying to work a business deal with, no matter if it is a personal or professional business deal, posted private communications of mine...that would be the last they would ever hear from me, no matter how good the deal, or not. Confidentiality is THE cornerstone of trust in any professional business transaction.

Back on topic....All the best to the entire Miss Geico Team, you guys are all an inspiration...and although this setback may be considered a "dark time",.....honestly the way the Team is handling this makes them even more of an inspiration IMHO.

It's easy to show class and professionalism when everything is going perfectly..not so easy to do the same when "chit happens"..JBS's posts in just this thread alone is a perfect case in point.

If doing what all you Offshore Racers do was easy...well, it wouldn't be as impressive,... and everyone could do it that could write the checks.

Hats off to all of the Offshore Racers, especially those that won't sacrifice their professionalism, class and basic manners...even in the worst of times.

What is a Mistic turbine boat worth.........

Every time I see a post from "JBS" I always feel like I'm watching an episode of jersey shore drama... except Jersey Shore can probaly hold my attention longer.

Rather than throw in the towel, Team GEICO is making an aggressive effort to field a replacement boat and salvage their season. They have a sponsor that pays them to drive in circles with a company name on the boat. Do you really think they can't afford your boat? Or is it possible that they are smart business people who don't simply whip out the trust fund checkbook and drop chow in haste.

I know nothing of your dealings with them this week and I have not spoken with Marc. But it seems obvious that Team Geico was your best chance to move your Mystic and you killed it by asking a ridiculous price. Posting his text and rambling about them not being able to afford your boat just shows your lack of perception.

Never have I read such unprofessional drivel in my entire life. Maybe your sponsors back off because after making loose agreements with you, they get on line and find out what an unprofessional individual they are dealing with. It has been said on here before. No sponsor wants a loose cannon representing their company. Hire a image manager and prove your bravado on the race course not behind a keyboard!

Marc, Scotty, and their sponsor GEICO, have worked hard to maintain a large presence in this sport by being professional and letting the proof be on the water not on a keyboard.

Always been a fan of Marc,Scotty,and Miss Geico. If they can get a boat together for St.Clair,that will multiply considerably.Who "isn't" going to be pulling for them to have a competitive race? It will be a blast to be able to watch them run others in whatever class they enter. Although the loss of the boat is tragic,this will surely get people cheering and hopefully help the sport. First off let me say, you have an awesome setup, an awesome boat, and us fans really enjoy watching you everytime you bring the boat out for a run. But the main difference between your JBS Racing setup and Marc and Scotty's AMF Racing setup is one huge thing... professionalism.

A lot of us understand that offshore racing is a big time money sport. A lot of the little guys do whatever it takes to save cash and put together whatever they can like a little 24' Vee in a F2 class, just to go out and run. While a lot of us know, yeah when you have big time money coming in, its about going to having a great time w/ family and friends and partying it up and then racing on Sunday. Trust me, if a lot of us "fans" had the extra income, we would be putting teams together and racing every week. But not all of us are the heir to some fortune!

I have been to many races around the Great Lakes area. I remember meeting you in St. Clair when you were having problems with your hull and you didn't race and you were very short with everyone... that was understandible. Then I met you again in Michigan City, just before the race where the prop got lodged in the hull of the boat and again you had that whole "I am better than you attitude". Everytime I have been around Marc and Scotty they have been awesome, not only to me but to other fans of the sport. They take their time when they get a chance to talk with the fans, show them the equipment up close, and just get on more of a personal level w/ them. That professionalism goes a long way... and John Haggin knew that. Haggin has a ton of money, but in a sport that cost so much to run that little extra professionalism buys you a lot with sponsers who are going to not only want to put their name on your boat because of the awesome setup you have but because of that level of professionalism.

Yeah, there isn't many boats in the Turbine class... and I get tired of one boat showing up and not even having to push the limits in any racing condition of their boat, gets old. Thats why it is great to see people like yourself, put a lot of money for these great machines into the sport. It was a blast about three years ago seeing three turbine boats in the class at Michigan City (JBS, Aqua Mania, and Geico). But just a word to the wise, don't go badmouthing the fans or other race teams. Yeah, its good to see rivalery but not when its the poor I think I am better than you routine. Show it on the water. You're a great competitor Jeff, and I have been watching you for years... but just remember the fans (even on the internet boards) are the ones who makes the sport go round!
