I have watched this model get developed for awhile now and I think they nailed it for the most part. As for the graphics Doug Smith stated he has one order in-house with a Cigarette style graphic, so that indicates the customer is king and can get what they want. Agree the boat is a full size 26 footer, but that is a result of the Checkmate dealers asking for the full 8' 6" beam, usable cabin with great entry, and bolsters that do not ruin the profile of the boat. As far as the "Stealthy" looking deck lines I think it is a much needed change from any past Checkmate, or Baja look. I was told the owner of this first boat requested a Baja alum. swim on it and that is making it look like a "Baja" transom more than anything else. Checkmate developed a cool looking fiberglass bolt-on platform that matches the deck lines going on boat #2.
Just my opinion.

A pair of 300-350 S.C.I Verado's are available. Also a pair of 300 Pro XS's . That would be a sweet thing.
But a single 565 h.p would be a nice affordable ticket to put this baby in the 80 M.P.H.
The cockpit is deeper and hull longer than the older Baja 25 -26 Outlaw look from years past..
This new Checkmate is a real 26 foot running surface boat. All new hull, deck, and cabin entry way design. The paint graphic's are still in the gel. At the transom you have a choice to option equip the 26 with a tubular colored platform and a fiberglass platform or non at all.
70 mph G.P.S right out of the box with single Mercruiser 8.2L Mag H.O and not broken in yet.

Just took a 2nd look. Only saw the top picture the 1st time. I like it a lot. A lot of boat for the size/style.
W/an O/B option, that could be a killer package.
Would guess twin 300 XS's push it 85 - 90 while getting great fuel mileage @ a 50 mph cruise. A full bracket w/a platform......
Any cabin pictures yet??

Amazing how well this boat figures into some of this year's threads. The Liberator Restoration, boats under 28', cabin room, all of that. 24 degree vee. This boat should do pretty well in the rough stuff. I noticed it's not on Checkmate's site yet, and also notice there's overlap in products.
I hate to even ask, (does this 26 have an enclosed head?)
