Is the transom deadrise even 24 degrees?

22 degrees

Lol. But really if you take the swim platform and the first 3-4 feet off of any boat you could really say the same.

That makes no sense.

Every boat is a compromise. The Fountain 29 with a 525 EFI and XR drive is sweet. I don't like Fountains but that is a good boat. Runs fast ,easy to trailer, plenty of room to work in the engine bay, slow to plane if you treat her right. Should be a trouble free rig for many hours if you take it easy on the drive. I'm not an owner but have a a few summers riding in one. Ya'll beat me up if you want but they are good boats.

why not every boat out there(almost) has a swim platform built in that is included in the length. And that last 4ft or so of a fountain is just shaped back vs having hull. So the arguement that the fountain loses all this space is true but is moot because 99% of other boats out there post the rule change by the USCG is in the same boat.

Looking at your at you easily have 12-18 inch peaks on each side of the caterman which could be considered space take away. If you have a swim platform I would say your 28 is not a 25.

You know it doesnt really matter these arguements are silling from bow to stern a boat is measured thats the way it is. Certain models do things differently in the middle of that which may yield more cabin space, cockpit space, etc. When its said and done a 24ft boat or whatever is a 24ft. I know everybody refers back to this old rule, well guys that was 20 years ago.

Not Cig.... :daz::poopoo::party-smiley-004:

All of theirs are square transoms with bolt on platforms that are not part of the LOA.

Sorry, I had to say it.

This is exactly what I mean about fountain guys being sensitive about their length. You took the bait.

My boat is a true 28.

its not just fountain its anybody. If you measure from bow, beak, catermeran etc, to back of the boat where fiber glass stops you will get the lenth indicated by by the nomenclature on the model.

I understand on a boat like a CIG if you have a 28ft and a 3 foot swim deck you could say 31ft. But i dont understand the true length vs not true lenth, measuring tapes dont lie. But i guess you could argue the certain make up of a boat.

And kryptonite, activator, warlock,Superboat, list goes on.
I think the 29 is a good boat. I like singles up to 29. Plus in this world you can big cubes at a good price which offsets the benefit of a twin. It's not hardto get 700hp nowadays and that will outperform 2 454 or 502 when you figure in the wieght.
I have been in these boats a lot in lakes and rough and it's a smaller boat. Beats you up in over 2ft. Perfect on the lake.
Plus they are a sexy boat.
