Cheap plastic and drain plugs don't go together. Real underwater lites work better and are not that much more expensive than most insurance deductibles.

I have one, it's not plastic, and it works great, much better than I expected for $40 (I think they raised the price since I bought mine, maybe $50). I would recommend sticking with the white to get as much brightness as possible. I have the blue and red too and soldered in some bullet connectors to interchange them (they charged me much less just for the light).

So I would say they ARE way cheaper than anything out there, they certainly aren't as bright, but no holes required. If I pick my drive up while anchored it lights up decent. Even if the relatively murky water where I am. If you have a twin boat, or a hull with two drains, even better. It looks real nice coming in at the dock with this light on and the anchor lights up front. I don't have any good pics as cell phones take ****ty pictures at night...

I don't get people's objections to these really, I mean what the hell else can you buy for a boat for less than $50...that actually works no less...

I tend to agree with this too, though I have left it in the water overnight when I come in late, the rack guys take it out in the morning and have never had any water come in...yet

The one I have seen definitely wasn't plastic and you couldn't touch it for $50 unless you had another $150 to throw in with it.

I've only seen them made from glass.

The product I have seen won't put your boat on the bottom. There are more companies that make a particular product people. Just because you have experience with one manufacturer doesn't mean they're all built the same way.

I should have been more specific, I have the light advertised here on OSO, and heavily discussed many times before, I guess I assumed what the original poster meant, my bad. $49.99 free shipping.
