Really?

Why? He was minding his own business...

Can you be self insured and run a poker run? They always asked to see my proof.

The only way that cruiser would be at fault is if he was at a race and crossed the race course during the race and made the wake that made the race boat crash.

I know when I would enter a poker run in the 50 NT v bottom, I try to find a wake to get a little air under the boat for a good picture but I am not running over 80 most of the time more like 55 when looking for a wake probly twice the pounds of most the new cats are. Had plenty of fun.

Yes...............

"Self insurance is a risk management method in which a calculated amount of money is set aside to compensate for the potential future loss.

If self insurance is approached as a serious risk management technique, money is set aside using actuarial and insurance information and the law of large numbers so that the amount set aside (similar to an insurance premium) is enough to cover the future uncertain loss."

That's crazy, I think my last insurance would pay up to 20 million ( i would have to go look it up to be sure ) in damages for property and loss of life and and hazmat clean up. I payed like 6k a year with a 3 month lay up. You would need to put I would think at least 5 mil aside to cover when / if you kill someone, wouldn't that money be better out making you more.

So you won't mind if something like this happens where you boat and they pass a law for no boats over 50 mph, no poker runs. Or like some places no boats over 30 feet?

Then it's time to sell and you have an older boat that will limit the amount of people that will want to travel to go look at it so you dump it off for 25k. Sound good?
