You are correct in that I am a lawyer. I rolled and it was my fault. You assume I probably tried to sue the owner of the boat that caused the wake. This makes me assume you are a d!ckhead that makes incorrect assumptions. I can prove I never tried to sue anyone, much less the owner of the cruiser. Can you prove you are not a d!ckhead that makes incorrect assumptions?

"Out of control cowboy" is what the boat should be named. Videos show it well.
If he had "situational awarenees" he would not of been running on the raged edge in a open waterway hitting the wake as he did. |

This attitude is like saying it is OK that a BMW will fly off the road into a ditch every time it hits a little pot hole at 55mph. :lolhit: Cheers, Dave |

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – The 2012 Shootout race for Top Gun is now wide open. Last year’s Top Gun and odds-on favorite to break the Shootout record this year crashed on the St. Lawrence River during the 1,000 Islands Poker Run. Bill Tomlinson and Ken Kehoe were running My Way at 160mph on Saturday when the 50-foot Mystic hit a wake destabilizing the catamaran and sending the bow straight up into the air. Exceptional driving, phenomenal throttle work and a little luck allowed Tomlinson and Kehoe to escape the incident unharmed (See the video). “At the last minute, a 44-foot Sea Ray lifted its bow and caught us,” Tomlinson said. “We should have been more observant and careful. We caught (the wake) at a bad angle, misjudged it… we were on it before we saw the height.” The impact blasted a six-foot hole in the port side, next to a turbine. “It crushed the exhaust on one side and one turbine is going back for inspection,” Tomlinson said. The other turbine powered My Way to shore. “Ken knows the shoreline real well and we got it beached,” Tomlinson said. “The boat stayed together and we didn’t get any water in the cockpit.” They were able to shut down the electronics before water became a problem. There was no wire damage. “Ken ran up and had a barge and crane out to us within an hour,” Tomlinson said. In total, My Way probably suffered $250,000 in damage. “We should be able to repair it,” Tomlinson said. But it will not happen in time for the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout next weekend. “Maybe, if we really pushed it, we could get it repaired in three weeks, but we’ll miss the Shootout either way, so I’m in no big hurry,” he said. My Way should be back in action by spring. Tomlinson has every intention of bringing the Mystic back in 2013 and his mission is the same – to break the Shootout record. My Way was primed to do it this year if not for the twist of fate. The 50-foot Mystic, powered by 6,000 horses of twin-turbine power, is among the fastest in the world, capable of reaching 221+ MPH in one mile. My Way put up five impressive runs at the 2011 Shootout, three officially recorded at 208 mph, tying Dave Scott’s course record from Captain Ron’s and still one mile an hour shy of the all-time record of 209 set by Dave Callan at the old Shooter’s 21 racecourse. Tomlinson and Kehoe are already forever etched in the Shootout history books, but they wanted the record -- bad. “We had a plane coming down with 12 people for the weekend. I spoke with Ron (Duggan) and we had it all set,” Tomlinson said. “We really enjoyed last year and look forward to doing it again. We hope everyone has a great time.” The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the only race My Way runs all year. This year's Shootout races will be held Aug. 25-26 at Captain Ron's at the 34.5MM of Lake of the Ozarks. |
A street intersection has 15 fatal accidents, they put up a stop sign.
Poker runs have how many incidents? before they put up a stop sign. It's our call. |

I'd say it's business as usual for the My Way crew at the next poker run as soon as My Way is repaired. |

Second time, a few years ago. Was running alongside my best friend in his 41' Velocity in some rough water. We started running fast and he got loose. Boat soared in the air, tripped, stuffed, ejected him from the boat and blew out the rear corner of the boat. The transom was split from top to bottom on that corner. The driver had broken ribs and called me the next day to thank me for saving his life when I pulled him out of the water. He said he was going too fast and running too loose for the conditions we were in. The whole thing was on my GoPro Camera. He didn't blame mother nature. |
Forgive me for asking, but while My Way was getting tossed around, Bill was able to still steering and throttle? Myself, I'd be hard pressed to know which way was straight and level, let alone be able to reach any controls while being tossed around. That was indeed some impressive driving keeping it in control while it was out of control. My hats off to My Way crew. Guess that's why I stay in the under 80 crowd.
