I'm kinda curious, both the pics and the video appear to show a turbine missing (ejected), but I heard that Tomlinson said one didn't get lost. What's the real story? And is it back at Mystic for repairs?

The turbine was not lost.

I saw the boat this weekend, it looked as though it might be getting ready to go somewhere, it was on the trailer hooked up with a tarp wrapped around the back section. The starboard engine is out and the damaged section has been cleanly cut away.

If these guys are so into safety, where's the safety gear? They are going well into triple digiits for an extended period, and I see no helmets, no life vests, nothing.

Good idea. Start blaming the cruisers for high speed crashes, and see how long poker runs last. In fact, see how long it takes for speed limits to be enacted.

I would recommend keeping a low profile.

I'm pretty sure they didn't need safety gear while travelling on the barge from the river to the dock. There are lots of pictures on this thread showing helmets and air supply masks on the top of the canopy after the crash.

I was looking at the video of the open boat. I'm glad to hear they had safety equipment in the canopied boat.

I find it extremely had to categorize poker runs as motorsports since those involve some form of racing and a winner vs. a bunch of egos being stoked based on bling factor, huge horsepower, wink, wink sorta race and a lunch stop. His boat at speed fits on a closed course like Loto or one of the sanctioned race bodies. If he wins at one of those he could be star of the show that day.
