my formula 272 has quite a hook and it is needed as the boat will porpoise a little at slow cruise with tabs full up. so i'll leave that. I guess I'll try and see tomorrow.

Keep us posted on how it goes. I also have a 272 with twin 330 big blocks(for now,540's on the way). And I have been wondering what might happen by swapping props.Mine tends to porpoise too at slower speeds unless I give it a lot of tab and/or negative trim. Wide open ,it's nice and smooth with tabs up and trimmed out. Formulas just like to run not walk

I have never tried it myself but this weekend I spent quite a bit of time with the guy who just set the new Kilo speed record in Savannah for his boat class with an 87 Scarab powered by Tyler Crockett 750's. He told me he picked up 2 mph spinning them in as opposed to out. His Kilo record was 103 mph! The previuos was 98.
