While Reggie seemed to appreciate and reward this type of behavior I cannot believe the Fiore's do.

Am I missing something? What no wake buoy? Are we talking around the 9:00 mark? A solid red buoy is a navigational marker not a no wake. A no wake is the white with orange and says SLOW NO WAKE. Kind of like the ones he comes off plane for at the bridge. Please tell me I missed something.

You missed something....

MissBehavin777 09-05-2012 03:20 PM

Yep sure did... had to watch again. Yikes cant agree with that decision.

Even with all of Fountain's antics with Cat Killer I never saw them and felt it was running unsafe like this vid showed.

I think the most famous vid of Fountain pulling their crap was at Jacksonville.... there is a massive difference between the two areas and who was around when he did it. and this goes for all respects from conditions, other boat traffic, size of the water (the physical width of the channel, etc.).

This OL video shows how dumb people are at so many runs. I really don't think Reggie would have tried to pull that kind of stunt if the conditions were like they were in this video. I could be wrong, just sayin' what I have personally seen.

Also, I'm sure it would have made a huge difference in the amount of wake and safety had he been 1 foot right of the 2 no wake buoys as opposed to the 1 foot left.

Wow, never knew just how close he was to other vessels and docks until those still shots.

What if people were swimming off those docks? What a retard.

I'll have to agree with someone else, people wonder why LOTO has such an azzhole water patrol presence........

Don't bring that crap stunt driving to my home lake, we've already had our fair share of Poker Run tragedys, we don't need someone like this causing another...

If you were at LOTO ,last weekend) hope you enjoyed the hospitality, and all the options for marine activities

As all can see, after I was the first to point out the "asshat" driving skills of Doc's driver, Doc proceeded to slam my home state (NY), and then go on to say how safe the LOTO poker run is. I guess he still missed all the boating violations of his driver that are posted on YouTube, and that he didn't see the infamous "Fountain 7" crew running the event without lifejackets and nearly flipping their 38 footer. If I was in charge of any organized boating event, moving forward, I'd make sure none of the "asshats" I've mentioned or any of Doc's hardware ran in the event.

ZP'd 09-05-2012 06:42 PM

That's awefully smooth water for LOTO or did he just not want to run int the rough of the channel?

TW720HVY 09-05-2012 07:14 PM

Donzi ZX, there is nothing wrong with New Yorkers. Growing up just outside of The City in Jersey and 4 years of college in Queens I'll take their driving any day of the week and more than occasional F' you, because they call it the way they see and mean what they say. :lolhit:

I have thought for a long time that performance boats on inland lakes days are numbered, an ******* like this just accelerates the process.

4195 09-05-2012 09:55 PM

Cool boat! Piss poor judgement they should ban him from the lake it will make these idiots think twice about this crap. Just for the record try that move around me and see what happens trust me it wouldnt happen twice! We have to police ourselves or they will do it for you.

CigDaze 09-06-2012 06:38 AM

I watched the video. All I see is another irresponsible and reckless display of idiocy bringing us all one step closer to the end of our recreational go-fast boating privileges. Thanks, guys! Way to go! If I lived in any one of those homes, I'd be making damned sure you guys were getting a visit from the authorities by now. WTF were you thinking? Good thing someone wasn't swimming at that time, or you didn't lose your steering and end up in someone's backyard...because we all know it wouldn't be the first time one of these takes a nasty spin.

If we don't start taking matters into our own hands, someone else will and we won't like the results. It's time to put an end to this kind of behavior and call out those who jeopardize our freedoms. It nice to see many of us stepping up in this regard.

Beautiful boat, though, but that's another thread.

Nothing is more important than operating in a manner which provides for the Saftey of you your passengers and others. Total BS trying to justify driving like this.

We are our own worst enemies.

Just a month or two ago there were a bunch of clowns yukking it up how much they like to create a racket at the docks and restaurants with their engines as well as other times. I couldn't believe how many members there were laughing at this. Now we have noise limitations in many places...not so funny anymore is it? I mean come on...we have noise limitations in CT where we boat on Long Island Sound, really? It's a frickin huge body of water, 1300+ square miles that empties into the Atlantic and they put sound regulations here? Keep it up people...

Beautiful boat, runs really well. The driver on the other hand was completely at fault. If he doesn't know the lake or conditions, slow down. Cut inside a buoy and it is a mistake, I get that. Back out of the throttle, correct the situation, and go on. At that very point of seeing the first buoy on the wrong side of you, your primary concern must become 100% safety. And that means slowing down and correcting the situation.

But by staying in the throttle and cutting more buoys is just negligent. Just because no one got hurt, does not make this any better than the fountain accident. Great, all you need now is for this video to go viral with the fountain crash. See a crash and see irresponsible behavior all by the same group.

Haven't read all 10 pages, is the driver associated with the manufacturer? Or is he just a private owner? If associated with anyone, I can't believe they are happy at all about this video.

Move these things to the great lakes or oceans, lots of water out there.

Nice boat, but it is really sad to see it and see people trying to defend an act like this. Just sad.

Brian

No matter if there were no wake bouys or not..the law is that your not suppost to run at speed within 100 feet from a dock no matter if there is a no wake bouy or not..it just wasnt safe, and Im not sure who was driving, but I have seen the "watch your back" fountain at the lake before and he has ran the "support the troops" poker run before, so he knows the lake..no excuse for his actions thats all that really matters..

I'm a: LOTO home owner. LOTO boater since 1976. Guy who loves crazy fast dangerous stuff. Business owner. Guy who has heard "Docs" name for year's but does not know him.

If I was a Doc: I would get back on here and publicly apologize. Fire the dickhead who embarrassed me in front of a group knowledgeable boaters. Bow gracefully to the gods of litigation that I didn't lose everything I had worked for my whole life because some 10 year old was floating by her dock when Brian was demonstrating the amazing abilities of the OL.

But that's just me.

If I was somebody who thought there was anything cool about that run and defended it, I would just be embarrassed.

Exactly the kinda behavior I would expect from someone during a poker run. I rode on a boat in the 2006 SOTW run, when it started there were 120+ mph boats buzzing pontoons and fishing dingys at full speed within 20 feet also near the start (and the un-expecting people on those boats weren't waving with there whole hand), I couldn't believe what a fukked up chaos it was. I told my wife that someone is going to end up dead out here and bingo, got to the first stop and there was a boat upside down and bodies in the water. This seems no different, every time someone crashes everyone talks about safety and then its quickly forgotten, Smitty

Watching this video makes me wish there was a water form of spike strips.

As others have mentioned, there is zero reason to be running at speed that close to the docks. Usually it's the PWCs you have to watch out for, but after seeing that video, I'll be on my guard for those a-holes that need 90 miles and every bit of shore-to-shore to prove whatever it is morons like that need to prove.

Griswald 09-13-2012 10:54 AM

you all seem surprised that Doc's "driver" did this. he has quite a record for this type of behavior

WildThing47 09-18-2012 01:59 PM

I guess it must have one of those special "FOUNTAIN" 525s in it...that would explain the 700hp...

It doesn't have nitrous, that's a fresh 525....I saw the boat from when it was ready for paint to full rigging...it's a great running boat. As far as the pad, give it a rest. A padded bottom is a padded bottom, this is Outerlimits' design of the particular bottom. Does it say Fountain on the bottom? No.....get a look at something other than the transom as was shown during the shoot out this year...maybe that might shed some light on it...

Give credit where credit is due...or build a boat to compete with it....it's a great running boat...let's see how it runs as it starts to run races...

Good luck OL! :ernaehrung004:
