I would do -4's, you could always do spacers if it is too high or anyone in the know can tell you the right x Dim for your boat. Did you ask the guys at Cig where your propshafts need to be? If I had the chance to switch to a hubless prop set up , I would do it in a heartbeat.. That's the only way to get the most speed anyway. Plus I think it is all bolt on. Hope this helps

Arneson all the way!
Arneson drives have proven themselves more then the SCX-4s
Cigs run GREaT with surface style drives and Arnesons are the best out there.
Overall the arneson is the best bang for the buck. You get the most NEW parts for the money and can sell some old parts.
YES the imcos seem inexpensive at first, till you have WCM blueprint, shipping, add ext boxes, helmts, HD gimble ring, resovoirs, spacers, etc.
SC lowers will wear out. They stil use XR junk gears.

Well i have nothing bad to say about the SCX drives.
The boat got right up on plane. ( way better than with the bravos) even with going to the 32 labbed props so now it is a little faster and easier to drive.
Steering felt a little bit tighter for some reason.

Pat, are you going with the SCX's vs. the SC? It sounds like the feedback on the SCX's is 99% positive. Dave at IMCO has been a great help with answering questions, and the feedback from the guys here on OSO been outstanding. Thank you to the OSO members that have provide info!!! I will pull the trigger on the SCX's as soon as my SC go to a good home!!!

Not that its the same setup...but we put SCX upper/lowers on our Ftn and lost almost 10mph over the XR/SC combo. Now, we aren't shelling lowers left and right, but the speed loss was more than expected...even with the super high Xdim on the SCX setup. This all being said, we just sold the SCX's and are going to #6's. Strong and reliable..yes. Fast...no. Wish you nothing but the best man. Let us know the results.
Is there a difference between the SCT lower and SCX lower?

Both SCX's, and the lowers have been blueprinted by Wilson. These are the drives I bought for my OL.
This is something to keep in mind that I never really thought about when trying to decide on the SCX's, not sure how accurate it is, but the opinion made sense to me. The faster your boat goes, the more the SCX's may effect top speed. So for a 125+ MPH Fountain, it's not hard to believe that the drives robbed that much speed. But for let's just say a 90-100MPH boat, you're probably not going to see the same 10 MPH loss. I don't think there's any doubt that the SCX lower is going to cost you speed though, you just have to decide if you can live with it for the reliability. But, when you here numbers like -10 MPH, it can scare you off.
For me, it's never been about top speed, it's about reliability, so buying Eric's drives was an easy decision regardless of how much they will slow me down (although I don't think it will be 10 MPH).
I don't know exactly when I can get my boat splashed, but I will post my results ASAP.
