how exactly is he a scam artist......who has he scammed.....are you trying to say that he scammed a boat company that had their boat delaminate not once, but twice?
I know if that happened to me I would damn sure be calling out that boat company and after the second time I damn sure would be expecting a new hull as well because I would not be risking my life with a boat that was not properly built or properly repaired.....getting what you paid for is not scamming that is not getting scammed
here is what I do know.....his boat delaminated not once, but twice and I have seen nothing from even his biggest detractors that say it was in any way shape or form his fault.....you state that he should have stopped when it first started and you have doubts that he was told to continue by the manufacturer
even if he was told to stop by the manufacturer screw that he paid for a racing hull not a sometimes racing hull and he showed up, spent the money, time, and effort to race and was doing well in at least one of the races.....if I was a NASCAR driver and I was running well and a tire started to shred on one of the last laps I am not going to pit I am going to race until the end of the race or until the tire falls off
if he had stopped because of a basketball sized bubble on his boat just as many people would be calling him out for that.....if it had been Reggie Fountain, Don Aronow, or ben kramer that kept racing until the boat could go no more those same people would be cheering yea race to win or until it falls apart
I have never seen him complain specifically about the wreck where the other boat went over the top of them
and in yet another incident I have seen where they had to beat a prop out of the bottom of their boat....the prop still has the bolt holding it on and after they beat it out you can see a piece of a broken shaft still in the prop.....what are they suppose to do tear the out drive down after each race and magnaflux the shafts....is it somehow their fault that a 1"+ shaft busted off and sent the prop into their hull causing yet more major damage
so there are 4 incidents I would say are not their fault at all....true that is racing, but when you are funding yourself that has to be hard on you mentally especially when you were running well when some of that happened and when you are paying big money for parts and equipment only to see it fail time and again
I did see them accuse some of putting used parts on their boat instead of new and or using some of their parts to race with while their boat was being worked on....I did not pay a huge amount of attention to those threads, but I do not recall any really strong response by those being accused or anyone else for that matter and in fact the one thing I liked that JBS did in response to that was attempt to go in house for more of their rigging which again has to be difficult to do when you are funding yourself, also racing, trying to get sponsors, and dealing with the overall equipment issues.....that was what actually made me think hey maybe these guys are not just douch bags with money maybe they actually want to race, but there is only so much you can do yourself (don't see them being able to build their own hull)
the issues with the turbines have been hashed out n here several times.....my opinion on that is I was less than impressed with the responses to what JBS had to say on that issue and I also find it interesting that the JBS boat is still featured on that companies website....and again instead of just totally crying about it and walking away they attempted to get it done themselves to keep racing, but continued to have other issues out of their control as well (listed above)....and I find it interesting that Gieco (the one thing that really seems to get people worked up about JBS) also decided to go in house on their turbines around the same time.......I will say that Gieco was much more diplomatic about how they stated the reasons for making that move towards handling more of their turbine setup themselves...but none the less they made the same move
again I have no issues with Gieco, I like their boat, I applaud them for showing up, running hard, and keeping it together no matter the resources they have available and all of their team seems to handle themselves well.....but at some point and time (and others have called them out on here for it) racing in a field of 1 is not really racing.....it is similar to what I was less than impressed with Reggie Fountain for doing (and I will own a Fountain one day because I like Reggies attitude overall) and that is showing up to a field you know you will dominate and then dominating them and acting like you really did something.....but at the same time I realize Reggie has boats to sell and Gieco has insurance to sell
and as I stated before when unlimited hydorplane went from many boats that were very competitive to one boat that was similar, but had a much higher level of support it was still bearable to watch and when it went form that to one team that you knew would win unless they had a major failure and a bunch of boats racing for second place the sport went to nothing...and it went to the depths of nothing so far that when that "top team" lost their major owner (in death RIP) and the son took over and the personal relationship was broken and then Budweiser started to become a beer not a brand and pulled out of major sponsorships.....that "top team" was not even able to go out and take another major sponsor from a "lesser team"......because there were ZERO major sponsors left and that "top team" was left unable to race at all.....that is how you kill a sport
again I can not say I hold the Miss Gieco team responsible for this.....would I do something different if I was in their position....I am not sure what they could do differently at this point.....but if Gieco pulled out from them would they still be racing?.......would they be able to go out and buy an existing boat in just a couple of weeks after having a major failure and fire on their main boat much less having another boat built at the same time?.....I don't know the answer to that, but I bet it would be a hell of a lot harder and if it was JBS that had the issue I can be sure that some on here would be laughing at them about doing some of the work on their turbines/rigging instead of having a pro do it and that is why there was a fire and they would be telling them to go back to poker running
does Miss Gieco offer expertise to other teams.....yes it seems they do and that is highly commendable and Miss Budweiser did te same especially with safety and that is a major advancement for the sport, but the crowds do not show up to see safety advancement competitions they show up to see racing
again should Miss Gieco refuse money, use lesser components, break down more often, or hire a lesser crew or smaller crew....no probably not, but at some point the sport has become non-competitive and at least JBS tried to go out there, actually race, and get a sponsor even if it has not worked out for them
as for the incident with coming to race and then leaving....I do not know the full story, but if I was that racing promoter and it was JBS specifically and they showed up, went into the crew area, and then did not race I feel I would have at least had a talk with them about what was going on be it with money or equipment or both that was preventing them from actually racing and more than likely I would have allowed the to stay based on the fact that they have shown up to race and raced competitively in the past and kicking them to the curb because they could not get in that race for whatever reason just means it will be that much harder for them to get in the race in the future and since no one else (anyone.....bueller) is even stepping up and trying besides Qatar I would say giving them a bit of a break would be much better than trying to chump them....what did that promoter have to lose they still had a hell of a mice boat for people to see and handling it better than them running them off is a much better chance they may be back in the future
again please tell me how they are "scammers" other than demanding that their race hull performs like a race hull.....who have they beat out of money.....have they taken money from you or anyone else and failed to deliver something
could they handle their comments on Miss Geico (that seems to take a very high road and at least try to help the sport and other teams).....yes they probably could.....but sometimes when you are spending a lot of cash, working hard, and having issues out of your control you might say the wrong thing.....have others called out race teams in all form of racing for "resourcing" a win......yes......has that harmed a sport IMO yes it has and unlimited hydroplane is the prime example of that IMO
as for trust funds.....I could care less how JBS gets money unless it is stealing or crime or theft (I have seen them accused of none of that).....there are PLENTY of well to do people on a forum for high priced toys....I seriously doubt that all of them are fully self made.......and as of now only one is stepping up and at least trying to run competitively with Miss Gieco even if they are having issues doing so and sometimes saying the wrong thing...is that the best use of their money VS dominating poker runs.....who cares it is their cash, but hey at least they are trying to do something they want to do and actually competing with the best VS dominating the rest and for that I can only hope they get a sponsor and show everyone if they can get it done and I can only offer them some respect VS trying to tear them down and take personal shots at them based on a bunch of WWW BS when all I have seen from them is a few bad quotes in relation to racing and at a bad time for them and a hell of a lot of money, time, and effort spent (which IMO is probably why they made those unfortunate comments)
if one or more other teams step up, get a sponsor or fund themselves and go out and race and win against Miss Gieco then I will let JBS die on the vine in my opinion of them, but as long as they seem to be the only ones even trying I will at least respect their efforts
I know if that happened to me I would damn sure be calling out that boat company and after the second time I damn sure would be expecting a new hull as well because I would not be risking my life with a boat that was not properly built or properly repaired.....getting what you paid for is not scamming that is not getting scammed

Agreed but that's not what our country cares about anymore. Work ethic and common sense seem to be out the window, people just want to watch rich people doing stupid sh!t and wish they were them.
