It happend at night as he was getting off exit 2 (South bound).
Nobody knows what happend.
He was on some kind of mega Ducatti that you have to go over seas to buy. They arent sold here.
I talked to the guy at Riverside towing who said it took him a couple of hours to pick up the mess. The engine head was even ripped off the block.
I'll let you know when I get the hospital update but fortunately, it seems he is doing better (but a loooooong way to go)

I can't quit...

I have been customizing this b!&ch since November. It seems motorcycle mechanics work on the same schedule as boat mechanics.

No optical illusion... those are 20'' over forks.

DJD--i talked to somone who was there right after it happened (Tommy E. lives right there)--it was ugly--he hit and knocked 2 different signs right off the stantions--he hit the signs for the exit in the grass between the exit and 95--hit helmet landed in Tommy's backyard--it seems speed may have been a factor from the damage--I hope he is doing better--john

I forgot that Tom lives there. Must have been an ugly sight.
Thanks for taking care of the M5 for the family.

I feel sorry for the guys who wiped out on bikes, but think DJD is correct....don't ride em except in pairs or packs.

I have had way too many close calls on my pedal bike which I loved to ride, hence have not rode it in more than two years. A guy riding two minutes behind me was hit and killed by a cop on an emergency call early in the morning.

Everyone I knew in in high school with motorbikes had horrible accidents. The worst was the over-achiever who planned to go into the coast guard....he lost his leg and had to forget about that. My dad scared the heck out of me with his own motorbike accident tales, so I feel lucky I never wanted one. I still have his Brando style leather jacket with road rash tears in it.

Good luck to those who still ride.
