Can we summarize a few things here

1) Estimated date(s) - I would vote for a Saturday so it could be run on Sunday if weather is a problem. I would like to arrive Thursday evening and run all day Friday since I have never been to the big lake. It would be nice to do a little practice so I can keep up (and claim my trophy in this not a race event).

2) Starting point address, marina, boat ramp etc

3) Finish - - is this going to be a round trip adventure? Where is this onion place?

4) Approximately how many miles and how far offshore do we get?

5) Fuel availability - 93, 110, ethanol issues

6) Nearby airports

Since I can't do Havasu, Cumberland or any Florida runs, this might be my one and only (and first) event away from LOTO.

Thumper, the venues discussed sound great but an idea that was brought up was Hammond and its lack of lodging. I know the CPC runs we did were well accommodated thru East Chicago/Pastrich harbor and its casino/hotel makes it very convenient. It was my understanding that they work well with groups and its only a few miles from Hammond with very good launching. Looking forward to how this rolls out, should be great. Just my .02 for those traveling from afar.

Thanks for the post

Having launched / boated from both when we lived In Il we are looking into both, having been away for over 10 + years we are relying on friends back there and coming in for turkey day to visit in person and look over the facilitys in person.
