I've been enjoying this thread. I love Apache Powerboats & Skater puts out an incredible product, no doubt. Here's an old b&w Apache video with Kramers 41 running through (what I consider anyway) big offshore water. Enjoy the old video & get some good video of the Onion Run. Have fun, be safe.

I thought the point was to see what boat was the bad ass in the roughest water possible so I guess if its on a Saturday and its NOT rough enough it will get postponed till Sunday??

I would like to arrive Thursday evening and run all day Friday since I have never been to the big lake. It would be nice to do a little practice so I can keep up (and claim my trophy in this not a race event).

2) Starting point address, marina, boat ramp etc

3) Finish - - is this going to be a round trip adventure? Where is this onion place?

4) Approximately how many miles and how far offshore do we get?

5) Fuel availability - 93, 110, ethanol issues

6) Nearby airports

Since I can't do Havasu, Cumberland or any Florida runs, this might be my one and only (and first) event away from LOTO.
1) Jim will have to answer
2) Googlemap Hammond Marina, Hammond, Indiana or Pastrick Marine/Jeorse Beach East Chicago, Indiana for the start, and St. Joseph, Michigan for the onions
3) ??
4) If you go straight across, its about 55 miles...shoreline MIGHT be visible
5) Hammond has 93 octane. For the Chicago Poker Run, we had to have a truck deliver the high octane stuff
6) Closest airport would be Gary International

Never was it stated the roughest water possible they were 25 ft last week
Leaning toward Pastrick.

For the dinner fund raiser,
We can order the food and the drinks set up the date reserve the hall / marina / silent auction.

DID I MENTION PARTY !

Mother nature controls the rest.

It will be a Saturday in the middle of June, The 22nd is the tentative date.
That a 40 Skater and his buddy Dan in a 41 Saber will leave to go to lunch.

We cannot control the lake and I will run as the thread started and stated in 4- 5- 6 with 7 with out hesitation.

The lake usually delivers some good times am or pm the same day.

Good times and good friend's will make some children and their family's very happy!

I did talk with an old friend at Pastrick this AM. and 93 and race fuel are not a problem we just need to pre order race fuel and pay per barrel in advance
He is working on the other details and will be released as soon as I have them.
