Lake Michigan can easily and often make some boat breaking 8ft waves.

There are many days with 12-15ft waves.

The weather buoy's have recorded 23ft waves! And the buoy is not even deployed in the winter where there is even worse weather at times.

18ft tall waves have lasted 10 Hours Straight!

Serious water that will Win when challenged by ANY boat!

THIS.

And check the scale on your map sometime, Rat! Lake Michigan is 300 miles long and 60 or 70 miles wide....not exactly a small pond.

Exactly! Plus the sharp angles you usually get on the Great Lakes.

Quick lesson on the Great Lakes for the doubters. The depths of these lakes are impressive as the glaciers did a good job.

Actually 350 miles long and more than 100 miles wide.

I've had 2 Apache 41's out there in big waves, but in anything more than true 5-6's, it's impossible to run any speed. And if they're breaking from the side ( running in the trough) you could be in BIG trouble.

Nothing at all like the ocean, where you can actually run over 70 in similar conditions, because the waves are much farther apart and much less steep.
