[QUOTE=cdaniel525;3807469]Thanks for sharing these photos sir.... So much of my childhood and teenage memories are washed away, I feel so much for those that have lost everything!

I wonder if boating in the Barnegat will even be safe next spring/summer. Wonder if all the channels are gone?

I am thinking the same thing, with all the garbage that has been washed into the bay.

I'm thinking about taking 2: 5 Gal cans and filling up in Maryland on the way up thinking that will get me into Massachusetts...and from Mass with a full tank should be back into MD even if I have to add 10: Gals. from the spares.

Any thoughts?

Not a bad idea, the lines up north on the rest area stops have been miles long.Other than that the road should be clear.

It will get cleaned out. We went through the same thing with Hurricane Katrina. They went through all the waterways with long reach excavators on barges and cleaned everything. We had boats in neighborhoods and cars in waterways! It's amazing how much power water can have

They had our waterways cleaned right away because the seafood industry is a large source of income for a lot of people here. As far as rebuilding towns and infrastructure its hard to say to be honest with you, it has been 7 years since Katrina and things still aren't back to normal and they probably never will. I don't think people realize the amount of rebuilding and construction that happens after these type of disasters, it's pretty significant and I'm sure it will take years and years for you guys to get back to some sort of pre-sandy living conditions. Just have to keep moving forward and stay as positive as you can
