I don't think she's out yet, and now the boat is mostly on her side, trapped between pilings and under Dave's boat. Since it's a covered area you can't use a crane so we're not sure how she's going to be removed without damaging the surrounding dock/lifts. Also, despite the 25 or so gallons of fuel still in the tank, my insurance company has told me it's a "low priority".

Since the engine, controls, wiring and electronics have been completely submerged in salt water for almost two weeks, I'm thinking nothing can be salvaged. :(

OUCH!! Any idea what you think its worth book value OR did you have agree'd value... And what insurance company is it that has nerve to tell anyone that theyre belongings are "low priority"??

The Matisse in Belmar holds a special memory for me.

It was the place I shot my first wedding for a very nice couple I know.

Perhaps the years the building stood ground on the Belmar boardwalk and fought off the worst of storms even Hurricane Sandy it intrigued me.

I shot the people preparing the Matisse for the storm.

During my post storm fly over I was so happy to see that the Matisse made it through once again.

One can only tell how well by visiting the inside but from the outside the building looked structural strong.

Unfortunately last night I came across a photo where the building was being torn down ... :(

You may be able to take away a building but the memories will last a lifetime through the images I shot there...

Farewell Matisse ....

That's a shame about Matisse. I lived in the condos by the inlet for a bunch of years, and that was always a great place to walk to with a date. From the pics, you're right, it doesn't look all that bad.

That building used to be what was one of the coolest McDonald's on the planet (prior to the change to Matisse).

I wonder if they'll be able to rebuild, as I don't think you can build on the east side of the boardwalk anymore.

Hi Tim!

Those are great pictures of Matisse before and after Sandy hit. It is so sad to see all this but many who don't live around there have no idea just how bad it really is. Like you said "the memories will last a lifetime through the images".

I was told by one of my client's this morning that parts of Toms River are still without power. I was stunned to hear that. I realize the barrier islands would be an issue with houses and damage and the restoration of power, but how much of Ocean County is still without power?

A number of areas are without power......THT has a thread like this that is turning into a FL vs NJ/NY arguement. Seems the notherns think this is the first hurricane to hit the US (yes, I know it was one of the worst but not un-precedented). Guy from FL said his neighborhood was once without power for THREE MONTHS.

Smarty-a large part of Silverton, and Green Island are still out, two weeks ago today the storm hit. My house had 4' of water, looks like a winter of rebuilding.:(
