I was thinking 1-2 with a occasional bigger. I've been in 5+ ft waves in the gulf on my offshore boat and its not a fun ride dropping down in to big trenches. That's with a heavy slow offshore boat I couldn't imagine true 5+ footers at 45 mph unless I was in a 40+ long boat that could span 3 wave tops. Never been in a 40+ ft boat so maybe I'm off on bigger boat being fun in true 5+ ft waves?

I would have said 1' to 2', probably seemed larger due to the bad angle of attack. It looked like the boat was taking a bit of a pounding at that angle.

Looks like 1'-2'.

NOAA reports as "Significant Wave Height" - individual waves can be much bigger:

"SEAS ARE REPORTED AS SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT...WHICH IS THE
AVERAGE OF THE HIGHEST THIRD OF THE WAVES. INDIVIDUAL WAVE
HEIGHTS MAY BE MORE THAN TWICE THE SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT."

2 foot windswell w some boat wakes mixed in. Lots of big ships out there.

Those are small, 1 to 2 feet. That's flat for out here. Looks like a 30 or 32 foot boat and not going very fast, makes the water look a little bigger than it is.
