I talked with him for a while. He said the hulls are made in Green Bay.
The guy that brought him the parts to fix his trailer was from the place that makes the hulls and he came up from Green Bay, with an air compressor and a large tool box with some new bearings (just in case he needed new ones, the ones on the middle axle were loose) and shackles for the trailer.

Here is another interesting note, the dB level on those 1100hp only put out 82 per the water patrol, the did a test on them.

Hello????? There are two sets of molds???

mpally 07-15-2002 11:56 PM

I never understood why they are built in GB and then shipped to St. Louis. Can anyone shed some light. Tbone, Shane?

St.Louis, Green Bay, North Carolina...whatever...that boat is the cat's pajamas!

Russ - Yeah the exhaust exits in front of the tunnel tab which is located beneath the "bussel" that covers the surface drives. When the boat is idling the exhaust is under water.

In addition they added two 2" diameter exhaust "relief holes" at the water line on the transom that reduce the harmonics caused by the below water exhaust. I'm sure the reliefs also ease starting as well.

I really noticed how quiet it was when it left the confined marina at Washington Island. It was almost silent until it comes on plane and the exhaust is above water.

Also, I'm not sure where the hull was layed or rigged, but the boat is still stored at the factory in Green Bay, then delivered for each run by the mechanic who prepares the boat.

Wherever it was built, I'll trade even up anytime. Heck, I'll even through 'em a couple bucks!!!:D :D :D

When I was talking to the guy, Mech, he said that they were taking it home to MTI in MO. The only problem he was going to have driveing home on Sun was that it is a wide load and most states will not let you drive on Sun and nights with a wide load, I think it is IL and MO. He left pretty early on Sun morning.
They were staying in the same motel as I was, the BridgePort.
That is a nice motel by the way if anyone was going to Door County or Sturgeon Bay. Our room had a small wirlpool and fireplace in it, along with a king size bed. It also has microwave, fridge, small amount of dishes and silverware....They pools (indoor and out) are very nice also, the outside one has a waterfall too. Damn I sound like a sales person for them...sorry.
