Well I spoke to the salesman at Eliminator. He recommended the 27ft open bow walk thru with a 525 merc. XR drive. Cruise 75 mph all weekend without having to refill the 120 gallons. Will push 90 without charger. Install the whipple and in the triple digits. He explained the boat will handle all comfortable conditions. Meaning, if it's blowing like a ***** and nobody is out there why would I be but would handle 3 foot chop. I can order a new one for a buck thirty. This would require me talking to my local bank. Still mentally trying to wrap my head around outboard and the skater route. I know skater makes a sweet bigger boat but don't know much about there 28. Still doing the research. The 38 TopGun with the new interior looks really tempting for 70-75k.

The guy at elimininator is a liar. I had a 28 Daytona they run great up to 2-3 chop. The tunnel is to shallow to handle any kind of rough water. Get a cat with a real tunnel and you will be much better off. You will get pounded and soaked on SF bay with a 27. If you only go out on calm days it would be a great boat and there are plenty of used ones.

I'm now looking at 30 plus. Thinking the space under the bow would be nice if I decide to stay overnight in the city. And the wifey is buying off on it. She is confused on just go fast. She'll come around.
